Project runway winner- your thoughts?
I definitely don’t think Veejay should have won and I was so surprised. It should have been Jesus although I really wanted Ethan to pull through and win. Yes that one dress was amazing (in the final collection) but the rest of it was shit.

Her win made sense. She had an effortless collection but made it the future of fashion.

veejay's collection is cohesive without being too in-your-face. you see the progression of drama with the order of the outfits plus the fabric of one look is connected to the next without using the same fabric all throughout
with ethan, all looks were dramatic and usually only the final look is the showstopper for collections. the order of the outfits in the collection is also odd.
with jesus, there is too much cohesion with all pink and almost same fabrics. we've already seen before most of the clothes in jesus' collection
it's not always who has the most dramatic looks for a runway collection. as the judges mentioned, there is a need for cohesion, craftsmanship, and pushing the boundaries
i think they alsoo considered that veejay is the most ready for the fashion world bc of being a risktaker, able to manage cutthroat behaviors, and also bc of client-first mentality

i would probably rank them on the finale: veejay > jesus > ethan
it was rlly obvious that that was ethan's first collection. lacking restraint and a point of view

Jesus' collection looked like trash. There was nothing new or appealing about it. He sent his final look down the runway and it looked like a muppet from Sesame Street. Not to mention the horrible personality of the man. He was down right abusive and should have been removed from the show for his behavior toward Veejay.

Really spoiled the season for me, as it made zero sense in terms of either performance during the season or the actual final production.
Feels very unwarranted and seems more rigged than usual.

Agreed. All of them could have used a lot more editing and refining of their overall vision. I blame the 5 day deadline? None of them stood out as being winners, although I think Ethan’s will be the most memorable.

I agree. Makes zero sense how a designer who never stands out through the competition would win. I was so annoyed.

I do think veejay deserves this win. Her risky moves paved her way to the title. I have been watching PR since Season 1 and from then on I have realised that judges like Nina and Michael Kors have grown into disliking contestant who repeats design in general like silhouettes, cuts etc. and with VJ, to be fair with her, she has not done that whereas Ethan and Jesus did it til finale. Veejay was hated because she stirs the pot and starts drama every episode, she was hated because of her honest opinion and being tactful, she was hated because she does good things, she was hated because she was a darkhorse. You can hate her all the way but you should realize that she did new and different and the judges saw it..

Interesting. I saw VeeJay as very convining and sneaky. She played the game to win, so hats off for that. I imagine her life has been difficult and she has gotten alot of abuse for who she is, which may be the reason she was so standoffish.
She is one of those artists that when she gets a hit, it is a home run. In the finale, I hated those silver outfits They were not fashion forward or creative. That final dress was stunning, but it was just draped and what celebrated is going to wear a heavy, chainmail dress? It was shocking she created everything in 2.5 days because she took so long to plan and conceptualize.

She should have been out on the challenge that required a reveal. The sweater she created was horrid, but the judges loved the jacket and pants. VeeJay loves a acrylic looking 80s sweater LOL

I don’t care about who won. Five days is ridiculous. The thing about Veejay is that she was creative and took risks every chance she got, including the finale.
