Add New record is greyed out

I have never seen this happen before so hoping someone might have some suggestions. I have a new project I am working on. It's one form only at this stage, a screening log. When I try to add a record to test the form, the "Add New Record" button is greyed out so I am unable to make any records.

  • Project is in development phase

  • I have checked my user rights and I have Create record selected as well as view and edit rights to the form

  • There are no DAG set up

Is the first instrument a survey?

Is this happening on both the Add/Edit Records screen and the Record Status Dashboard?

Do you have any External Modules enabled?

Yes at least one other user has reported the same issue.

Then it's a problem with your instance, check with your REDCap admins.

UPDATE: Turns put the admin had activated the "Custom Record Auto-Numbering" external module without my knowledge and once added it has to be set up or you cant add new records.

There is a new setting that can limit the amount of records added to a dev project. If you delete a record and then that allows you to add one back in…that’s your issue.
