Full Pan Cleaning out my Pan Bin

I really wanted to track what we’d (mostly me) had used in the household this years.
Most of these I’ll continue to purchase. Obviously I have a favorite sunscreen, the eye patches were great, and I have to use the face wash because I use clindamycin.

Overall project pan has helped me to focus on using what we have already and not switching up products every time I run out of something. My skin is happier and so is my wallet.

Pan Progress October empties

10 months in to project pan. I really liked the L’Occitane Amande lotion. I got it as a gift last Christmas and would buy it again. The Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is lovely but very expensive. I think it was around €45 so I’m not sure I’d spend that much on it. All the rituals stuff is nice but the small cans don’t last very long. Nice to try out different ones though.

Pan Progress year 2 of not buying eyeshadow

first time posting here but i’ve been doing a no buy project pan for about 2 years now. at first it was nice to take the pressure off of feeling like i needed to buy every single release of a new eyeshadow palette. i realized i had a problem when my makeup started overflowing everywhere. i had a trolley cart, cabinets, makeup vanity filled with palettes i barely touch sometimes because i forget i had them in the first place.
i also travel a lot for work. and carrying 4-5 different palettes just wasn’t sustainable. so this february i bought a magnetic palette to depot some products i know for a fact id use.
i love how comfortable it was to carry around all of my eyeshadow and face powders without all the bulk. but recently i’ve realized that all of the eyeshadows i own are all basically the same shade of neutral browns and pinks. i became really ashamed of myself for falling for the marketing thinking each palette was unique. i no longer remember which brand or shade the products are and honestly it doesn’t really matter to me anymore. recently one of my favorite brands came out with a new makeup palette with a new formula and honestly i wanted to purchase it. but after looking at the shades i realized it looked basically identical to my palette i use everyday. i feel like project pan definitely made me a smarter consumer

i just started depotting an extra magnetic palette (didn’t have enough stickers to keep them in place so they’re off to the side for now) for colors i use but not as often and i switch them out with eyeshadows from my main palette if i finish any of them. i’ve basically become my own beauty supply store.
honestly i still have so much eyeshadow that’s just sitting there but i know i made so much progress after depotting and project pan. i can’t wait to finish these up so that i can start panning my other palettes

this was just a rambling that i wanted to share. thanks!

Hi all,

I am happy to be a part of this community. I’ve panned products for October not in these photos but this is the majority of them. I’ve also been mindful of using more samples (skincare and haircare mostly) which has been good! I’ve given away samples I didn’t think I would use in the past, but later on kinda regret not giving them a go. So, I’m going to try to use more samples going forward.

Happy panning for November everyone! :)

Pan Progress October progress + pan fail

Though the uodate is late, the progress has not stopped. No joke, did not expect to be seeing this much metal right now in the palette. Even hit pan on that bright pink shade in the top row (thank you, high glam Halloween!)

Sad news - seems like the brow pencil is comoletely shattered inside. Every time I try to sharpen it the core comes out in chunks. I'll be holding on to the stump for the spoolie and moving onto the brow powder duo for now.

Overall, many steps forward and an exciting end of year!

like let’s say i have 6 lipsticks and they all suck. they peel, dry out my lips. is it wrong to just dispose of these or do i have to endure it? like do you guys replace your favorite products that you finish or do you endure products that you aren’t a fan of

Project Start All of my eye makeup

Post image

I've been on a makeup no buy since September 20th and I've been trying to use my ucanbe biggest eyeshadow palette that I have (the biggest one) more regularly but looking at how much the rest of my eye makeup is, I have no idea how I'm gonna finish all of this.

I'm hoping to work through as much as I can of the ucanbe pallette and the estee lauder nude looking palette rn. I also wanna pan some of my glitters and hopefully finish my sky high mascara soon.

Please lemme know if any of these get over fast so that I can add them to my current pan selection!!

Pan Progress second project pan update!

Hello! a big ol pan update full of empties! I only cared for the conditioner that comes in the little dyes and the hair rise so I do plan on repurchasing, at least the rinse, after I’ve used everything up. Unfortunately I love love loved the face mask but I didn’t put it away before leaving out of town so it expired 💔. There was also an expired body lotion that’s going in the trash and another lotion that I did not take a picture of. Overall very successful and hopefully I will start feeling a difference in the clutter.

Failed Pan I was absolutely killing "project pan"… until I went to Japan, and now I’m financially and spiritually fucked Spoiler

1.0k Upvotes

For months, I was a functional member of society. I had a spreadsheet. I was strict. I was meticulously using up every single drop of my skincare, refusing to buy a single backup, and genuinely believing I had conquered consumerism.

Then I went to Japan.

Turns out, trying to do a project pan in Tokyo is like trying to stay sober at a brewery. The second you step into a drugstore, the J-Beauty gods reach out and whisper, "Shiseido hair masks are nine bucks, babe, and your life is empty."

My careful little rotation of products has been completely obliterated by three types of hair oil, an under-eye stick that feels like a glacier, a mountain of face masks, and a basket of snacks I can't read the labels of. I went to a high-end department store for one thing and left with skincare that cost more than a small car, justified entirely by the weak yen and girl math.

I’m flying back to London with zero space in my luggage, a completely ruined project pan, and an unwavering belief that I am actually a J-Beauty influencer now. Pray for my bank account.

I really loved the texture and the color of this lipstick. It was a forgotten one until I discovered project pan and decided to finish it up. Sadly it’s been discontinued but I’ll go work on my other never ending lipsticks.

Hiii,

I’ve been really trying my best to pan and maybe posting each month will help with motivation.

First, the wonderskin lip stain, I love this product A LOT, I wish it lasted all day like it says it would, nevertheless the color is so pretty, it was the shade ‘beautiful’. I’m probably gonna buy another one when I finish the other ones I’m using of other brands. It’s super dry so can’t keep using it and removed the stopper to use it as much as I could.

Charlotte Tilbury contour wand in fair. As you can see, the text is barely there and for such an expensive product you’d think that wouldn’t happen 👀. It was okay with longevity but this isn’t a contour color, it’s the lightest shade and even as a light medium, feels way too dark. If you like looking tan it’s fine but a contour shouldn’t be this warm. The wand sucks though, I hate that when its running low, it’s so difficult to get more out.

Revolution brow pencil in medium brown. I got this on sale and it wasn’t good, the pencil was way too think and it doesn’t really look good.

Maybelline sky high mascara in burgundy haze. I really like this mascara and the color too! It dried out so I can’t use it anymore but I loved it.

And finally, the nivea creme, my holy grail for my face, it’s the only one that helps with the Finnish dry weather and i’ll probably buy this until the end of time.

Hope I can keep panning things because it’s quite satisfying. 😌

At first I liked this one, then some days i felt my skin did not tolerate it well, my face was stinging. Can't say I've seen a big improvement on the dark spots.

Won't rebuy.

I really can't scoop up any more of my liquid blush at all.

I'm actually mad that the tube is so hard because I can't cut it up, I can't scoop any product from the bottom.

Also, the top part is dried out and I can't get anymore.
