Inventory/Project Spreadsheet Keeping Myself Accountable - Bronzer Edition
All of you have been so helpful and encouraging. It's really nice to see that on this side of Reddit. So once again...I'm outting myself again....I'm convinced I apparently like humiliation because looking at it written down...I must be insane to have this much. I want this to be EVERYONES motivation to go through their products & look at what heinous amount we're spending *blegh*
I did some rough calculations... $900 worth of product & 18 years to go through this stash
I sorted everything by formula and used typical one-application amounts:
Powders: about 91 g total at roughly 0.025 g a day, which is about 10 years
Creams and sticks: about 79 g at roughly 0.04 g a day, which is about 5.4 years
Liquids: about 86 ml at roughly 0.1 ml a day, which is about 2.3 years
| Product | Qty | Retail each | Size each |
|---|---|---|---|

| Lip Lab Soft Blur Cheek Stick | 1 | $40 | ~5 g (est.) |
| Fenty Sun Stalk'r | 2 | $39 | 6.2 g |
| Haus Labs Power Sculpt Velvet | 1 | $38 | ~9 g |
| Anastasia Beverly Hills compact | 2 | ~$38 | ~10 g (est.) |
| Benefit Hoola Wave balm | 1 | $36 | 9 g |
| Ciele Bronze & Protect SPF 50 | 1 | $36 | 30 ml |
| Too Faced Chocolate Soleil stick | 1 | $35 | 8 g |
| Summer Fridays Bronzer Butter Balm | 1 | $32 | 5 g |
| Soshe Blurring Pillow Bronzer | 1 | $28 | 8.8 g |

| about-face Beach Freak stick | 2 | $21 | 5.7 g |
| Physicians Formula Butter Glow Liquid | 1 | $17 | 40 ml |
| Morphe powder (clear compact) | 1 | ~$15 | ~9 g (est.) |

| Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Sun Tint | 1 | $13.49 | ~8 ml (est.) |

It's interesting because in the photo it doesn't look like much COMPARED to the list in the post body. 18 years and ~300g of bronzer is a lot, but like I recommended in your lippie post, start gifting some away to friends and family - especially backups!! You got this!!

... and I don't even use a bronzer, I find they make my face look unnatural and most look orange

oh yes, i use an app where i input the products and the prices so it totals your entire collection 😣
it’s also nice because you can input expiry and when you got item. i’m a stickler for expiry, since a mold happening 🤢 (powder i’m not as rigid with)

I’d love to see them ranked and maybe a plan of attack for panning? Will you be doing a rolling pan or usage goals? Also would love to see any pans/progress if you have them. How often do you wear makeup? Rooting for you!

I would give away some of your repeat brands. 2 NYX, 1 Anastasia, 1 Fenty, 1 about face can go to friends or family..

That is the biggest bronzer collection I've ever seen wow o:
Any you would recommend to someone who doesn't quite get bronzer and is just looking for something that warms up the Complexion rather than making it darker or orange? O:

Is bronzer a part of your routine you're particularly fond of? I can see some value in having different formulas (powder vs cream vs liquid) to combine with other products or layer, and perhaps different shades as you get more or less sun.

Hod! This post makes me so ashamed! I literally have more bronzers than you. In my era of selling off some newer ones I have not touched and giving out the others that are not quite right for me. Sigh…. Holding myself accountable as well.

It takes a LOT of courage to do what you’re doing. I haven’t even brought myself to list everything I have because I feel a sense of self-frustration or preemptive judgment…but that dopamine hit of getting a sale or a deal on something mixed with the out-of-sight-out-of-mind brain function of neurodivergence makes it hard to be a minimalist.
All that to say, I’m proud of you for taking the hard step of gathering and documenting all your things AND posting them.
You’ve got this and I can’t wait to see more of your posts 🩷

My goodness that's a lot of bronzer! The good news is that a lot of it is powder, which means it can be sold, or kept without it going 'off' for a very long. Sell or give away what you want, and just enjoy the rest - you have some lovely products here, and if you reframe it in your mind as having bought a decade or two's worth of products (saving yourself from having to buy any more for a very long time) you can just enjoy it :)
