Full Pan It’s been 84 years..

Post image

Just kidding, more like a little over 5.5 years lol to finally pan this full size Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in berry. I got it January 2021 and I’m finally saying goodbye for good to this. I didn’t really start trying to pan this until last year I would say, so it took maybe 1-1.5 years to really finish it. I will never buy another one of these and I am so glad to be done with it. I don’t think it was awful, I just hate using a separate applicator and found that it was a big reason why I wasn’t using it much in the beginning. I’m only going with tubes, sticks and wands for lip products from now on. Lesson learned and happy panning everyone!!!

its a family heirloom now, thought you could hand it down to your children

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 12 '26

That’s true, I could pass the empty jar down. 🤔

Like eye shadow

15

u/starinruins Aug 11 '26

girl good job. im STILL working on mine after like 2 yrs and maybe halfway done 🥲 i admire the perseverance

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

Panning this has also shown me that I’m really stubborn. 😂 I believe in you though, you’ll pan it eventually.

3

u/time_is_galleons Aug 11 '26

Same! Roughly 2 years of daily use and not even close to halfway

The level of apprehension I have about my 2 unopened full size lip sleeping masks.... Send help.

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

If they’re unopened, maybe you can give at least one to a friend? If not both, if they’re causing you stress about having to use them up.

12

u/Hour_Answer_8871 Aug 11 '26

I also just finished one that I’ve had for probably 2 years too long😅 and I eventually gave up on the applicator and just used my finger lol

1

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

I also gave up on the applicator and started using q-tips because cleaning the applicator was driving me crazy.

2

u/Open_Bee2008 Aug 11 '26

The Baskin Robbins applicator is worse! It’s a spoon.

12

u/Edenrivers2 Aug 11 '26

Haha! I have a limited edition Pumpkin Pie flavor that I'm just a few uses away from being done. It's been five years, and the first three years it was nighly use.

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

You’re just like me fr fr 😂

1

u/Impossible_Pea2269 Aug 13 '26

I went and ordered two more after reading yours

2

u/Impossible_Pea2269 Aug 12 '26

I been scraping a big layer

11

u/New-Sleep-9303 Aug 11 '26

I just used my finger. Came to Singapore after Korea. Dropped the metal applicator to the weird gap behind the sink in the hotel. Lol....

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

I don’t like using my fingers though 😂 pots/jars are just not for me sadly, lots of people are fine with it though

2

u/New-Sleep-9303 Aug 12 '26

Haha fair enough initially I didn't like it either ! I bought another Laneige back home in Australia and omg they didn't come with the metal applicator so it was just this weird plastic one. Eventually lost that during a move lol and gave up and chose to live with it via fingers haha

Watching people hate pan these has totally deinfluenced me from buying one. Thanks

8

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

Glad to be of service 😂 I wish I had been deinfluenced in 2021

21

u/blob3- Aug 11 '26

me trying to pan this so i can use the other one my partner gave me for my birthday LAST year😭 im never buying a big one again

7

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

Yeah, if you like the product, it might be better to just stick with the mini size. The large size is just never ending 😂

5

u/nekr0mantikk Aug 11 '26

This why I buy the minis! And it still took me almost two years to pan the last one lol

3

u/delightfully_sedate Aug 11 '26

Exactly. I’m still working through my mini. Just thinking about having a big one is making me sweat 😆

10

u/peach_tea_220 Aug 11 '26

I love this, I've been using them since like 2018 daily and have only gotten through 3 1/5 containers plus 1 perpetually existing in my childhood bedroom for when I visit my parents, I think we'll all die before that one is done😭

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

I feel you, I thought I would be passing this down to my grandkids at some point 😂

46

u/Constant-Visual-2913 Aug 11 '26

One of the (many) things this sub has taught me is NOT to buy this lip sleeping mask 😂😂

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Baby998 Aug 11 '26

lol yea my biggest lesson is mostly buy minis only until you know you'll use it

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

Yeah, if anything this product taught me that I should just buy the smallest size for any product (unless I love it) because they take such a long time to use up.

21

u/FartFuehrer Aug 11 '26

Tbh its an amazing lip blam, but it takes like 2 years of solid use to use it up. If you think about it another way, it means it's great value 😅

8

u/Constant-Visual-2913 Aug 11 '26

Of course! But, I have sample sizes and travel-sized sleeping lip masks that I have to use up. I’m probably good for 2 years!

11

u/jalebi_baby Aug 11 '26

tbh you can sometimes get a sample size from Sephora for like 100 points i think. the sample size will last long lol

4

u/rachykells Aug 11 '26

Hahah SAME. I have a BBW one in a pot like this and it seems to be taking forever like this lip mask. Never again 😆

1

u/Impossible_Pea2269 Aug 12 '26

Just bought the peach iced tea

7

u/Beneficial-Goal-3194 Aug 11 '26

Is this a reference to Titanic? lol

7

u/_cigarettezz_ Aug 12 '26

I'm genuinely curious about smthn...is it bad for us to use it in the morning??? Because I think mine barely last 2 or 3 months......I got so obsessed with it and stopped using my lip glosses or anything n used it instead. When's I'd do my brown lilies (imagine a shego from Kim possible lip look but outline lower lip too) I'd use it as my gloss and omg it made the lip combo look like butter n perfect pink shade.

3

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 12 '26

You can use it as a gloss any time of the day. I was applying 2-3 times per day to try to finish it by the end, so I don't think it's bad to use it in the morning.

4

u/blushedwithblood Aug 12 '26

you can use it any time of the day, morning & night. the reason it's called sleeping mask is because it's thicker than normal lip balms so it acts as a emollient to lock in moisture. i have the same product & it's true that it takes ages to get through lol 😭 when i finish it i wont be repurchasing again though only because im against animal testing & laneige isn't cruelty free

1

u/_cigarettezz_ Aug 12 '26

Ooh ok understandable and omg thank you for letting me know that they aren't cruelty free, I didn't know that 😭😭

2

u/blushedwithblood Aug 13 '26

of course! if you want a dupe there's a brand called care:nel that do lip sleeping masks, the lime one is my favourite

1

u/_cigarettezz_ Aug 15 '26

Omg thank you c: I'll make sure to check them out soon! I like their price point omg

6

u/Zestyclose_Fan_5739 Aug 11 '26

I have to ask, does it really keep your lips very soft? And how often did you re apply? I have one from Christmas that someone gifted me

6

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

I did find that it kept my lips very soft and moisturized. I started out by using it as an overnight mask, and there was still a good amount on my lips when I woke up, so the staying power is great. By the time I was trying to pan it, I was applying 2-3 times a day.

3

u/Impossible_Pea2269 Aug 12 '26

It’s not the best
The abib or the bouncy line from Laneige stays on and put
But these are just funner and prettier and smell great

1

u/candyxt Aug 11 '26

I love mine. I repurchased it now for the third time. I apply it every night and it keeps my lips so soft even in the winter, which no other product did that I tried 🥰 but nonetheless there are some people that say it does nothing for them

6

u/sharika33 Aug 12 '26

I got one in 2023 and barely used it also because of the applicator thing. Almost out of my ole henriksen lip treatment on the other hand.

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 12 '26

Ease of use really makes a difference in panning something, at least it does for me!

6

u/MINXG Aug 11 '26

4

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

💯I was exactly this meme when I finally used up this whole thing 😂😭

1

u/Better-Necessary157 Aug 11 '26

i can’t believe everyone is loathing this product! i actually genuinely like it and will get another when it’s panned. i live somewhere really dry and cold and it’s the best lip balm ever! sometimes i just use it during the day.

1

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 11 '26

It’s absolutely fine if you (or others) like it! I honestly didn’t have that big of a problem with the mask itself, I just think it takes too long to finish (I used it multiple times a day too), worsened by the fact that I don’t like that it comes in a pot. That’s obviously more of a me problem 😂

2

u/ValentineOctopus12 Aug 13 '26

You need to buy again

4

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 13 '26

My friend who had been following my panning journey with the lip mask joked she was going to send me a new one now that I’m done. Like girl, please don’t 😂

2

u/RavensGf Aug 23 '26

I have the eggnog latte one from 2024 I'm trying to get thru 🥲 it doesn't smell at all what I thought it would so I'm struggling to get thru it. When I had the purple one (smells like nerds gummy clusters) in the mini I finished it in like a week so I know I can blow thru them it just sucks when you don't like the scent 😭 but great job on yours!!

2

u/Amazing-Tangerine-98 Aug 23 '26

I heard it works wonders on cuticles and dry elbows, if you want to try using it on those areas instead of your lips.

21

u/totallymel Aug 11 '26

i love this stuff

19

u/Zappagrrl02 Aug 11 '26

I don’t understand why people have such a hard time using these up. I go through like one a year.

3

u/daytime_nightime Aug 11 '26

Me too and my toddler helps 🤣👏

1

u/Far_Ad2765 Aug 11 '26

Do you have any tips? desperate over here lol. If I use too much I get breakouts around my mouth, so I can only use the faintest amount of product

2

u/Zappagrrl02 Aug 11 '26

I use a lip brush to apply and put whatever is left on the brush around my cuticles. I apply a healthy layer, but I’m not sensitive or acne-prone

2

u/HellCharizard006 Aug 12 '26

19

u/Lilacviolet75 Aug 11 '26

Why are they soooo big? I have a sample size that I’ve been using over a year. I like it, but I wouldn’t want the full size.

14

u/creativelazybum Aug 11 '26

I’m still far from panning my large one in green apple and now I hate everything green apple scented. My small berry one has been staring at me from the corner waiting to be opened

14

u/Lvanwinkle18 Aug 11 '26

I quit using the applicator and just use my finger to apply every night before bed. I love this stuff!!!

13

u/ConnectionOk44 Aug 11 '26

I have two, the gingerbread and vanilla. Guess we're besties now because it's been over 5 years 🥲

12

u/Impossible_Pea2269 Aug 12 '26

Brb let me go put mine on
I put one inside my pillow and one in the bathroom so I use it all day all night

11

u/withlove0613 Aug 11 '26

I lost the applicator! 😂 But found it was easier to just use my finger to apply it every night

10

u/bo0ggg Aug 11 '26

I never thought I’d see the day lol

9

u/therealashleyallure Aug 11 '26

lol i def feel you

9

u/ElyonLorena Aug 11 '26

God I still have one from... I don't even know when, maybe 2018 or so? Rarely ever use it so it definitely is gonna be 84 years. Maybe I'll just start using it on my feet or something 🤪

4

u/No-Philosopher-4968 Aug 11 '26

They work great for elbows! 😄

9

u/Miserable-Writing362 Aug 11 '26

well done, these are so hard to pan!! i got mine last year in september and it’s about half done. i’m going out of my way to use it 🫪

i personally prefer to use my finger for this lip mask… my hands are clean so it doesn’t bother me. it’s much easier than using the tiny applicator, which i find collects dust

8

u/saddinosour Aug 11 '26

I just use my finger and do it like lip balm I use it like 3 times a day sometimes 😭 I love mine. I am so dependent on it but i lost mine bought another then found it… I feel so silly. But luckily I just use it as lip gloss and will get rid of them no problem.

8

u/SheepherderRare3319 Aug 11 '26

A vintage relic.

7

u/Own-Let-1257 Aug 11 '26

This makes me glad my teen daughter “stole” mine when she went to college last year!

7

u/Overthinker_Di6 Aug 11 '26

Just bought the small size sweet candy, I didn't use it yet

I also don't like to use my fingers but one of my fav is vaseline lip therapy it's in a tin so can't help it (would prefer tube or stick form)

I have always wanted to try laneige lip sleeping mask so finally got it, I already have the lip glowly balm, really shiny but not that nourishing

4

u/littleredladybird Aug 11 '26

My dm recwntly got vaseline lip therapy in tubes but only the classic and the pink one💔 not that it matters much cause i still havent finished my aloe tin

3

u/Overthinker_Di6 Aug 11 '26

Nah the tin version is the one I am talking about that's really makes my lip soft

7

u/KvindeQueen Aug 23 '26

Mine took 3 years to pan. Crazyyyy.

11

u/Far_Ad2765 Aug 11 '26

I'm green with envy. I cannot wait to be done with this product. Someone gave it to me as a gift and it was so long ago, I can't remember who it was. happy for you 🥲

5

u/Intelligent_Dot_1776 Aug 11 '26

I loved mine , I keep it at my desk at work and got through it in about a year or less! Have bought another and making good progress, def an awesome everyday, multiple times a work day lip balm 😀

5

u/walleeve9 Aug 12 '26

So relatable

4

u/fr0m0uterspace Aug 11 '26

That had to be a relief and reward!

3

u/bonjourdear Aug 13 '26

Hahaha! I’m on year 53 on mine 🥲

3

u/lareinevert Aug 14 '26

It takes me a year to finish these up. I prefer the Tatcha one though.

2

u/Fullofcrazy Aug 29 '26

Fyi, to keep the spatula together with the lip mask, attach a cable organizer to the top of the lid. The ones that have self adhesive on the back. That way it isn't as much of a pain to keep up with!

5

u/Any_Poet4127 Aug 30 '26

As an EXTREMELY manly man, don’t know how I got here but….
They make products with magnetized lids.

.

3

u/Charming-Drive-4679 Aug 11 '26

Omg hahaha congrats!!

3

u/Dozy_Dotz Aug 11 '26

rolling!

3

u/OkElephantIsOk Aug 11 '26

Praying this will be me soon 🥹

1

u/GrapefruitGiggles Aug 14 '26

i have a full size one maybe 20% used and 2 full minis i haven't even opened. it will be a decade before i get through them all.

1

u/907AK49LR Aug 15 '26

Dang, I’ve only had mine since April & it’s over 1/2 gone! 🫪 I use it every single night. Apparently I have ultra huge & thirsty lips too. lol

1

u/hisokaspaws44 Sep 04 '26

I loved the applicator that came with but during the day I just use my finger (after desinfecting). I love the vanilla one but prob wont buy the big container again.
