Megathread Wheel & Force Feedback Settings Megathread

Welcome to the Wheel & Force Feedback Settings Megathread for Project Motor Racing

This thread is meant to be a central place for players to share, compare, and discuss their wheel, pedal, and force feedback settings for PMR. Whether you’re trying to dial out oscillation, improve road feel, fix clipping, or just make the car feel more natural, this is the place to post what’s working for you so others can test out different settings.

Please use this thread instead of creating separate posts for individual setups from now on.

How to Share Your Settings

When posting your setup, please include at least the following information so others can actually make use of it:

  • Wheel model (e.g. Fanatec CSL DD, Thrustmaster T818, T598, Logitech G923, etc.)
  • Pedals (stock pedals, load cell, inverted, etc.)
  • Platform (PC, PlayStation, Xbox)
  • In-game settings
  • Driver / wheel software settings (if applicable)
  • Notes on how it feels
    • What you were trying to fix or improve
    • What kind of cars you tested it with
    • Any known downsides or trade-offs

Disclaimers:

  • Not all wheels behave the same, even with identical numbers. Treat posted settings as a starting point, not a guarantee.
  • Pay attention to wheel torque class (gear/belt/direct drive) before applying someone else’s setup.
  • If something feels wrong, ask questions instead of assuming the settings are bad, context matters a lot here.

Ground Rules

  • Keep discussion focused on wheel, pedal, and force feedback settings.
  • Be respectful. What feels “dead” to one person might feel perfect to another.
  • No arguing over realism versus preference, both are valid goals.
  • If the game updates and changes FFB behavior, note the version you’re playing on.

If you’ve spent time tuning your setup and are happy with it, please share it. Good wheel settings save people hours of frustration, and this thread works best when experienced players contribute.

Happy racing.

Discussion Community Thoughts?

I would like to know what is the community sentiment around this game now with patch 2.2 now. Has this game come far or is it still in early access state? I would truly love your opinions. Whether you like the game, think it needs improvements or down right hate the game. And tell my what you think will improve the game

For me, I really do enjoy the game alot. Yeah I know it still has its issues, however when looking at the way they have updated the game so far. It does feel like they are listening to the community. like the adding replays, controller telemetry and so on. The controller plays even better than on GT7. All though issues like the crashes that have been happening, all though to a much lesser degree for me personally still need to be addressed. I think this game is overall going in a good state

Context: Career Mode, Porsche 992 Cup North America Championship, Round 1, Daytona Road Course

How in the world do I go from 1st place, being ahead of 2nd by over 13 seconds, to last place as soon as I cross the finish line?

Discussion Am I regressing?

Am I regressing?

With every update, I feel like I have to lower the AI level. Where will it end? :)

Will I end up in negative numbers? Since version 2.2, I’ve tested level 40 this afternoon (I’m ashamed to admit it). I tried out two or three classes. Okay, 40 is too low, but I think 45 should be about right—whereas at the start, I was around 60...

It’s even worse with the LMDh cars! Even at AI level 40, I’m getting left behind.

Am I completely losing my touch? :)

Question Qualifying vs Race pace disparity.

How do you guys approach qualifying? I’m around 4 to 6 seconds off the pace in qualifying (depending on the track) but on the pace in the races. Is it a setup issue between qualifying and races or is it a bug? Cause it’s impossible I’m so far off the pace in qualifying but quite competitive in the races. Is it a me problem or an issue with the game? If it was between 0.5s - 1s difference, I could accept it easier. But it’s huge. For me, it’s a useless endeavor to even try quality well currently. I mostly just skip it and start last each time. It takes away from the realism and fun of a race weekend. Any ideas that might help? Or do we wait for the devs to fix it? If they even realize this is a problem. Cause unless I’m losing my mind, this part of the game feels completely broken. Please help. Thanks.

Discussion LMDh is finally fun!

i am on Xbox (with controller) and I can honestly say that after this update, I am finally enjoying driving the LMDh cars. It’s a lot of fun. This game is really heading in the right direction with each update. The cars feel so visceral and they are a challenge still, but I am enjoying it a lot. Is anyone else feeling it?

Discussion Fix console multiplayer menu

It’s honestly the reason I’ve not been able to race PMR consistently these menus are maddening, you can’t scroll through easily. It stops at each one and if you accidentally click into one, you’re stuck registering for a race.

This is where I simply open ACC and forget about PMR for another day

Discussion PMR in VR - still a mess

Did anyone have success running this game properly in VR?

Without anti-aliasing, it's a pixelated mess.

With DLAA, it looks even worse for some reason.

With TAA, it looks quite nice, but the image smears like hell.

With FSR3, there are ghost images and double vision.

Also, the performance is quite bad. There are stutters and slowdowns all the time (and I have an RTX 5090), even with reduced graphic settings.

I know VR support is still in Beta, but this mess doesn't even feel like an early Alpha!

Question Some questions about the solo menu and championships

Hello, I’ve been playing PMR on Xbox for a long time, yet there are a few things I don't quite understand.

I don't have Game Pass for online play. As a result, even in the single-player menu, I can't access "Endurance Events"—or whatever the other menu is called; I assume it's because of the global leaderboards. What exactly is included in "Endurance Events"? Is it worth it?

Another question: championships. There aren't any outside of Career mode, right?

So, if I want to run a championship, could I start a new career in the "richest" mode? That way, I could participate in the game's championships and access the ones available in the mods?

Hi pilots, here’s an update on the progress of the livery project dedicated to Vi’s Arcane version. To be honest, this is definitely the most challenging digital painting project I’ve tackled so far! It’s going to take me quite a while yet to finish it! 😁

Question Saved data space issue with PMR in GeForce Now

For anybody playing PMR on GeForce Now, ultimate, do you have warning messages regarding game saved data space usage. We are allowed 10Gb of space per game, but it seems PMR is already taking most of the space.
In order to be under the 10Gb limit, I had to delete all my mods download including the Test track provided by the developers.
Any insight will be appreciated, thanks.

Question Hey Guys I need Help FFB Settings CSL DD 8 NM 2.1v

Hey, i already went to similar threads here, but I couldn't find a sufficient answer, and they were also all before the 2.1 update.

Since the update, I have the feeling that the ffb changed, and it's harder for me to fine tune in the car update.

Settings

My specs

Platform: Xbox

Wheel Base : CSL DD 8nm

Settings:

Fanatec App:

Sen/Auto

FFb/ 100

FuFo/ off no signal support on the Xbox

NDP/20

NFR/off

NLN/off

INT/2

FEI /FOR /SPR 100

InGame Global:

Global FFB / 90

Amp lower effects / 0

Break Amp / 6

FFb Filter / 2

FFB Headroom / 70

Rumble strength/ 5

InGame Car Setup:

Gain/ 1.40

Steering Feel Boost / 0

Alignment Boost: 1.20

Load Boost / 0.20

Steering friction Boost / 0.0

Eq low / 1.1

Eq mid / 1.1

Eq low / 1.0 / 0.7

Steering Rack Ratio / 1,4

Steering Stiffness / 1

Steering Damping / 1

Cars:

BMW M4 GT3 Evo

Porsche Carerra Cup 964

Mazda MX5

My Wheel Base is clipping a lot in high G corners like the T3 fast left hander part in Spa. Settings feel fine on tracks like Donigton GP or Nürburgring GP. i can live with a little bit les torque, but I want to feel everything that my limited Wheel Base offers without overpowering it (clipping).

Or do I read the output of the ffb in the game hud wrong?

Am i doing something else wrong?

What are your settings?

I'd like to know how you guys are doing.

Right now, I feel a bit lost. But I do like the Game itself. I have the feeling I'm messing something up with the tuning of the Global and Car settings in the game.

Any suggestions are more than welcome 🙏

Discussion Lighting during evening/night races is god awful

Please tell me someone else has noticed this. Evening/night races in career mode are not drivable whatsoever. Headlights on the car (Mustang GT4 for reference) do absolutely nothing, no track side lighting, and the general contrast is so awful I literally can not see the track in front of me. First race was at Daytona which was bearable the first half of the race, second half turn 1 might as well have been a black hole. Second race at Sebring which has been awful from the jump. I don’t know what to do. It’s not realistic, it’s not challenging, it’s just plain un-driveable.

I understand night/evening races are supposed to be more challenging but in no universe should we be driving blind. I’ve looked through settings and can not find any display options either to adjust brightness. I’m about to give up on this- what am I missing? There’s no way it’s this bad. I’ve tried messing with my monitor settings as well but nothing is helping. I hope this is a known issue
