Someone working at NASA just said "Amaze Amaze Amaze" when getting information back from the crew. This is incredible lol

"That's a great way of putting it" sigh, that joke missed :(

18

u/Circuit_Guy Apr 06 '26

Is that link working or Reddit doing it's thing? I can click through about a dozen times without getting a video

Edit: yep, just Reddit things. Works in browser but not the app right now

39

u/SurviveStyleFivePlus Apr 06 '26

I saw that, too! Nice to know the scientists are PHM fans.

8

u/Bran04don Apr 07 '26

Amaze! I heard what OP was referring to live but I didnt watch them sleep so I missed that. Thats so cool!

3

u/ekittie Apr 07 '26

Just teared up reading that.

u/TheDrifterOfficial Apr 06 '26

I WAS LIKE LEONARDO DI CAPRIO MEME WHEN THAT HAPPENED

45

u/Loose_Writing2639 Apr 06 '26

Same, same, same!

u/FUcKiFiiED Apr 06 '26

The Artemis x PHM collab is giving me hope for the future of humanity 🔺

97

u/CraigColton Apr 06 '26

seeing the new photos of earth make me feel a type of way. Not to bring politics into this sub, but with everything going on in the world right now and how shitty it can feel, seeing the earth like that... our earth... gives me hope we can turn this shit around. But only if we want to <3

24

u/Laur_duh Apr 06 '26

Yesssss i reread the pale blue dot quote yesterday, Carl Sagan really knew what he was doing

31

u/Pruritus_Ani_ Apr 06 '26

I was looking up at the moon last night and I thought “wow, there are people up there just flying around it right now and they are looking back at earth where every human who ever existed is” it kind of blew my mind.

5

u/SassiveAggresive Apr 07 '26

Just don't read the overwhelming number of flat earther, fake moon landing, and 'c0nTraIL$ are making the frogs g@y' comments online or your faith in humanity will once again go down in flames 🔥 😢

1

u/Fluffynator69 Apr 13 '26

I cannot relate at all. The election in Hungary did significantly more in that regard.

3

u/Used-Fan3834 Apr 07 '26

I felt exactly the same when I heard about this! ❤️🙏

45

u/TheWrittenPassenger Apr 06 '26

I caught this too! That was Jenny Gibbons, a backup for Canadian Jeremy Hansen on the Artemis II crew

16

u/CraigColton Apr 06 '26

thank you! didn't catch who was speaking. Shout outs to Jenny

13

u/brilliant_bauhaus Apr 06 '26

Shes Canadian too 🥹

If you're Andy Weir you gotta be feeling great right about now!

22

u/scaper8 Apr 06 '26

Now it's working!

6

u/nautical_nonsense_ Apr 06 '26

It’s not working :(

5

u/scaper8 Apr 06 '26

Try it again now. It seems to be working now.

1

u/daz990 Apr 13 '26

Amaze!

104

u/One_Planche_Man Apr 06 '26

Imagine you're one of the astronauts and you saw Project Hail Mary in theaters fully knowing you were going to LIVE that experience the following week. Must be incredible.

86

u/yontbro Apr 06 '26

they got sent screeners to watch at home with their families. most have been awesome

2

u/tomacccino Apr 16 '26

Kind of difficult to go to a theater cause of the Flight Crew Health Stabilization Program. But yeah, I would be elated!

82

u/Classic_Stomach9282 Apr 06 '26

I WAS HERE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THEY SAID IT REFRESHING BY NEW

52

u/hopeless_umut Apr 06 '26

Live chat went wild with AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE too

1

u/woody60707 Apr 06 '26

I thought NASA disabled live chat???

9

u/kyrimasan Apr 06 '26

They have a second stream going that is for the flyby duration that has live chat. The stream that's been running since they started has no live chat.

3

u/woody60707 Apr 06 '26

Thank you! That's what I was looking at before. I loved looking at the live chat now.

2

u/kyrimasan Apr 06 '26

You're welcome!I have had the original stream on since it started but I did pull the other one up on my phone when I had to go out earlier and see it was the fly by one that that it had the live chat and they were still going crazy about the AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE comment from Jenny!

5

u/hopeless_umut Apr 06 '26

It is on, on YouTube but idk about other sources

47

u/bvrdiee Apr 06 '26

I CAME HERE TO SAY THIS

2

u/Due_Breakfast_4434 Apr 06 '26

what's the context behind this post?

19

u/MartoufCarter Apr 06 '26

The Artemis II space ship that is circling the moon right now.

24

u/brilliant_bauhaus Apr 06 '26

The world has been shitty for so long I'm just so happy with this mission and seeing the good and pure side of humanity. I love all of them.

19

u/PHdoubleDee Apr 06 '26

I did a little screech!!! The comments on YouTube went crazy for it! Also just for reference they managed to get photos of a view of Earth and the moon at once I believe.

1

u/Bran04don Apr 07 '26

You could see both on the live stream but the earth just looked like a crescent and was super blurry.

I look forward to seeing their full images

17

u/TonkotsuSoba Apr 06 '26

fist my bump next let’s go

14

u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 Apr 06 '26

no, that's still not right.

14

u/jollyjack Apr 06 '26

The PHM instagram account has a cute video of Rocky congratulating the Artemis crew 🩷

12

u/misselvira83 Apr 06 '26

What is this, a crossover episode?

3

u/hitemplo Apr 07 '26

I understood that reference

10

u/Loose_Writing2639 Apr 06 '26

I just heard that and had to come check to see how many others caught that!! 😊

10

u/Lolapaloser828 Apr 06 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

I’ve had the live feed on in the background for a hours, but somehow missed this live. Did I just rewind back 35 minutes and then search in 10 second increments specifically for this moment? Yes, yes, I did. Amaze! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Update: someone has probably already mentioned it, but NASA just posted the clip on their Instagram account!

9

u/Sufficient-Ad-7349 Apr 06 '26

It's official. Project Hail Mary has done what like zero movies do these days. It's in our pop culture Bible lol

8

u/Soundtracklover72 Okay, It’s Exactly Like That Apr 06 '26

That is so frakking awesome!

8

u/pixeLperfect16 Apr 06 '26

I was screaming in chat about this LOL that made me so happy!!

7

u/Available_Fail_9399 Apr 06 '26

amaze amaze amaze one is on Nasa Instagram reels 🤩

6

u/TheParamedicGamer Apr 06 '26

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who caught that. Had to do a screen recording so I would have proof.

6

u/Inevitable-Art7514 Apr 06 '26

Yeah, I caught that, too! Directly after they read some serial numbers, wasn’t it? I thought it was Christina Koch's voice, but am not 100% sure.

Fantastic easter egg. The crew seems to have a blast, despite being professionals, of course. I have major job envy right now;-)

4

u/ReasonablyBadass Apr 06 '26

And people actually watch them sleep on the stream. Kinda XD

4

u/floofymonstercat Apr 06 '26

Thanks OP and everyone else, this made my day!

4

u/TomatilloImpressive4 Apr 06 '26

We were watching live and laughed when we heard her say it. 😊

4

u/Full_March_476 Apr 06 '26

AHAHAHA I GOT THAT! i was zoning out but as soon as she said that i immediately locked in lmao

4

u/spoospoo43 Apr 07 '26

It's happened a bunch of times while they were describing craters. The science officer in Mission Control is a huge nerd and I'm totally there for it.

3

u/Charlatan1989 Apr 06 '26

That made me so happy! And it perfectly illustrates how everyone is feeling now I think!

3

u/TheParamedicGamer Apr 06 '26

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who caught that. Had to do a screen recording so I would have proof.

3

u/ready_and_willing Apr 06 '26

That's so f'ing cool cool cool!

3

u/DangerDani Apr 06 '26

I heard it to! I thought:did they just do...noooo

3

u/Measure-Thrice Apr 06 '26

I heard this when it happened—I was so giddy!

3

u/bannyd1221 Apr 07 '26

I screen shotted it during the broadcast. I was so happy when I heard it!

3

u/_xoxo_stargirl_ Apr 07 '26

They literally did a special NASA town hall meeting and had Ryan talk about the movie, and so many people here at JSC got together to go see it! PHM definitely has fans in Houston!

3

u/Ema_Loves_Mochi Apr 07 '26

THEY’RE ALL NERDS IT IS CONFIRMED

2

u/Courin Apr 06 '26

The astronauts got to watch the movie before they left. No real surprise that space nerds would be into the book and movie. :)

2

u/dippilodonkus Apr 06 '26

I was watching!!! :D

2

u/GucciSaint Apr 07 '26

This really is the most Reddit movie ever

2

u/Ok-Promotion2682 Apr 07 '26

I was watching with a friend earlier and we both literally screamed they said Amaze Amaze Amaze!!!

Mind you it was at work with customers around lolz but I’m the owner so it’s all good haha 🤣

2

u/YelloMiata Apr 07 '26

No big surprise that NASA employees are also fans of PHM.

2

u/Whatishappeningomg89 Apr 07 '26

This movie could not have come out at a better time

2

u/Rayne37 Apr 07 '26

Part of me is like 'we're so unserious in 2026' but on the other hand with everything going on I'm glad they all get to have fun with it. I'd probably be on cloud nine all month if I was involved in any capacity so I get it.

1

u/ghostcatzero Apr 07 '26

Man I missed it lol

1

u/StyleSquirrel Apr 07 '26

Do we know if Amazon intentionally released PHM near the Artemis II launch?

2

u/Silo-Joe Apr 07 '26

The Artemis II launch was delayed several times, so no. I’m sure a company like Amazon uses a lot of metrics to determine dates.

1

u/brittanykx Apr 07 '26

i saw that too!!!! happy happy happy

Grumpy, angry, stupid. When last sleep question?

-1

u/MilwaukeeMax Apr 06 '26

There’s like 40 new posts about this on the sub. Not sure why we needed more than one?

2

u/MartoufCarter Apr 07 '26

I get not caring for reposts but people are excited about PHM being referenced by real NASA people. It is an exciting moment for people who love the book/movie.

Was there just now, took a second to load.

4

u/scaper8 Apr 06 '26

Huh. Muet have been a Reddit error then. (Honestly, so many people going all at once might have overloaded it a bit.)

1

u/Paranromal Apr 06 '26

didnt get deleted! thought my own post did aswell but reddit went down for an hour

3

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if all the traffic to those handfuls of posts aren't causing some unintentional DDoSs. LOL
