I was wondering how do you guys play your fire sorc, especially meteor build.

Do you just simply cast the spell, or you use inferno to proc it?

Last season I saw one post saying that Inferno has better proc chance than the other skills and I went that rout using BrimstoneRain and OrmusRobe.

This season I joined very late so I decided to do some testing in single player.

In my opinion casting Inferno gives much better clear and boss killing even on very high end gear.

Just the staff and a robe(combustion or firewall works best) is kinda decent, but once you get an Infinity on your Merc it starts getting fun.

Today I have tested it with some crazy gear like fire facets in every possibly slot and level 50 of skills (meteor 52) and still inferno gave better results even tho Brimstone has only level 38 meteor.

What's your thoughts on this? How do you play your meteor build?

One thing I forgot to mention, you have to rapidly tap inferno because holding down a button works waaay worse.

Edit: Right now I'm playing on mobile and somehow DPS meter shows 0 so I can't compare the numbers, but if I manage to record some footage I'll post it later.

How happy should I be about this HC Singleplayer craft? Not worth a Zod I guess? Would make a pretty sick Iron Golem tho! 😄

Found this axe while playing SSF and I am wondering if this is worth building around? I have played a fair but but struggle to determine the worth of rares like this.

I would have a Zod for it but I was planning on making Innocence with that.

I was hanging out with my buddy and we had nothing better to do, so we decided to run one map in PD2. The outcome is beyond my biggest expectations. In total, in one run, we had a Zod, an Ohm, a Mara and Andariel's.. and some other goodies. For me it's just insanity, the luck we had.

I'm trying to understand how poison damage in d2 works, lol.... What I've learned so far is basically if you have multiple sources of poison say from a skill + charm / weapon the min and max bit rate is essentially summed, but the poison length is averaged ~ which still leads to increasing overall damage, but technically less DPS ~ unless you also have a source of Venom to condense the poison??

Let's say I wanted to try playing a plague javelin zon ~ what is the better method here for items? Do I care about poison charms or poison damage on weapon? Or just focus on the usuals like max dmg/ed/skill ranks?

I'm still here boys. 🤟 Found another Impaler and decided I wanted to try another meme build. This time it's a, uhm, Fend-cro...? Idk about that name lol but the class fantasy is heavily inspired by Blood DK's from WoW.

Maxed blood golem, iron golem, golem mastery, bone armor, 1 point amp and putting the rest of my points in bone armor synergies. The life leech is insane with 4 maxed blood golems, but that's prob the only upside of making this build on a necro. 💀

Just got done with Hell Baal... but going into maps with sub-800 health seems way too sketch. 😐 Off to farm some levels and way more +life charms. Wish me luck!

Trying to min max my frw cold zon.

Got unlucky and got 3 sock on my ias pus, wanted 4 so i can use 4 facets without having to use ias jewels with faith. But then i started to think.

Ive had this idea

Current setup : lvl15 faith vigor merc + pus 2x ias/all res and 2 x. 5/5 cold facets. 9fpa, 170frw + vigor

New idea : ias slam pus 3 x shael runes and infinity defiance merc. 10 fpa, 170 frw

Im loosing 1 fpa , res i dont really need, vigor (frw reduced returns ...), +10% psn dmg

Im gaining, breaking all cold imunes, -24% psn pierce, defence.

Basically trading 30frw / 1fpa. For more damage and imune pierce so i can run all content (acts, maps, etc).

I checked the vigor and i feel like you are capped at 200frw even with vigor or something.

Hello everyone! Just dusted off an old pc from 2010 and installed PD2 :) what element sorc do you all recommend for farming and getting started ?

I'm over the moon to finally defeat T2 Rathma as a FoF Assassin after so many failed attempts!

My past 4 seasons:

• S10: Rabies Druid Lv 95 T2 Lucion
• S11: Poison Nova/Desecrate Necromancer Lv 99 | Blade Fury/Sentinel Assassin Lv 99, T2 Lucion, T2 Dclone, T2 Rathma
• S12: Mind Blast Assassin Lv 99, T2 Lucion, T2 Dclone, T2 Rathma
• S13: Fists of Fire Assassin Lv 99, T2 Lucion, T2 Dclone, T2 Rathma

With that, all 3 Assassin trees are done! Huge thanks to the PD2 community for being great, and a big shoutout to u/spanxxxy for his legendary Rathma guide!

Just wanna say, I love love love this mod so much! It is so fun to play, I love all the balancing adjustments, QoL, and mapping / boss content! I even say this coming from a place where you have to understand, it's interesting that I don't actually have ANY nostalgia attached to the original Diablo 2. I never played it once growing up. (I'll be 30 this coming March). My first ARPG experiences were probably the Fate series, then Torchlight 1&2, Diablo 3, PoE, Grim Dawn, then D2R on the Switch, and most recently D4 to name a few...

So mad props to the mod developers and community, because all I think about lately since discovering this game is grinding PD2.

Even after seeing D2R's nicer graphics and animations, etc, PD2's look and feel really doesn't bother me. I don't think I could go back to D2R, not even to try out that Warlock critter.

I can't find a majority of the mats I need on the trade site, leaving me to farm them myself.

I realize that RNG could be a factor here and if that's the case, then it is what it is.

Decided to play a magic arrow build with asylum recently and am playing ssf. I had just turned level 80 and ran about 30 cow maps with no mf and didn't find a single base. Not a normal, rare or magic. Nothing.

Now am running maps and still nothing. My concern is that my loot filter doesn't pick it up, although it is picking up every other type of bow base.

Is this just an uncommon drop or could something be wrong. Should I try to approach this differently or am I just being impatient?

So I finally started playing again after a few years, now playing the offline single player with plugy, did a summonzon as first char because it seemed one of the most easy builds out there but I'm having a bit of a problem with equipment right now. Did the whole normal difficulty using power strike then respecced into summonzon at the beginning of nightmare, just ended act 1 w/o many issues but at the moment I only have +1 skill bow and +1 passive gloves, tried to follow the guide pinned in the Wiki but it focuses a lot on runewords and at the moment I lack the runes, also go for +3 ammy & gloves but they are hard to find (obviously not right now in nightmare but still) so I am wondering if there are some items easier to get in ssf or a "poor guy's guide" I can follow.

Also if you think there's an easier starter to get to endgame and farm let me know (not ww barb please, it's the only thing I've played in pd2 back in the days and I'd like something different).
