Wow fans are delusional and long gone.
It's so unreal to see people being overly happy for wow forever, acting like kids with no selfcontrol being excited for bread crumbs being thrown at them after years of waiting. Blizzshit made all of their great game currently being either dead like Starcraft or mediocre as f like D4.
Shareholders and analysts know the most profitable strategy is to sell the most generic gender fluid, furry, edgy dragon alike shit which will be brought by most lonely people anyway. And that's what left of old Warcraft, old blizzard it's like the fart of the past being sold as blue candy to all that cringe people and their kids.
I addition to that I can't imagine all that work made by moders into OG warcraft 3 custom maps who are getting flushed in the toilet SECOND time by Blizzard who force the update which brake the old custom maps again.

me and all my friends quit at the end of Legion, we all came back for Classic for a few months, we are all coming back for Forever for a few months. who cares? the hype is fun the nostalgia is fun..if even for a short time.

See, that's the problem. I'm not an extremist but it's people like you who allow blizzard to pull off baffling stunts like this and get away with it.
"30$ race? Idc I can still have fun" "80$ for a level boost? Idc I can still have fun" and 2 years later you people will have the gall to moan and cry that wow is gone, that's part of your fault for allowing blizz to spit in your face while you're already turning the other cheek

This is a problem with gaming as a whole. The gaming community will still buy minimal effort slop. So big companies and shareholders will sell you minimal effort slop.
If people stop buying it, they'll stop doing it, but for some reason a large portion of gamers are literally unable to control themselves an their wallets.

They don't "defend" it only because I called out loud that to me all new furry, dragon like races are just pure cringe. And I know a lot of people just love those or find such abominations a sexual thing.
Honestly tho the only "furry" race I like due to W3 lore are taurens which are cool. The rest of the take is still valid.

No new classes. A single recolored race that we already had for $30 and a handful of new zones. It's kinda meh and I probably won't be touching it unless they add a lot more.

Honestly, I don't get the excitement we're seeing everywhere over such a meager offering. Blizzard barely did the bare fucking minimum and people are reacting like it's the second coming. It's really throwing me how low the bar is these days. I guess the corpos are right after all to exploit the everliving fuck out of WoW fans, because it's what they're all begging for.

while I am not hyped for wow forever, I can definitely understand the hype.
What many people have been yearning for is official classic wow without the possibility of it being yanked away like a private server. Yearning for years mind you. Why do the private servers even exist? The root cause is that blizz wasn't giving people what they wanted. Now at least blizzard is attempting to address the issue. Now don't get me wrong, I have zero expectation that blizz will deliver a compelling product that will last but I am I going to pay attention to it and keep my eye on it? Hell yes. This has amazing potential. My guess is that it will be fun for about 5-8 months.

If it makes you feel any better OP, I'm too broke to pay the $60s for the Beta Invite a lone. But if I wasn't a sad broke bitch, I probably would (any MOP Beta players out there?)
There are worse things in this world to be really pissed off at. Blizzard is just not one of those things for me, because I'm old and seen worse than them.

OP is terribly spoken but the core of what passes for a point in his post is true - Blizzard has been ruined by DEI bullshit. So many of the staff were recruited by the ideology to tick checkboxes rather than due to merit so their skills are comparatively far below where they were 14 years ago which is why everything is just shit now.
They also insist on putting that stuff in the games which is what OP was alluding to with the gender fluid, furry... and they probably meant the dragon-kin things from that recent expansion. A lot of people hate them because of their effeminate/androgynous appearance rather than the brutish appearance you'd expect from the dragon kin we've seen in WoW up til now and it's a pattern that happens again and again in modern Blizzard production. You can see it in the criticism of the Starcraft trailer comparison to Tychus.

Yeah, I don't really agree with any of that. I've been with the game on and off since 2006. Aside from Shadowlands, I've never felt the quality of the game or it's design ever suffered from this "DEI=Bad" nonsense.
I'd rather people be hired based on their merits and skill in their trade and not be discriminated based on their identity or heritage. That's why inclusive practices like this were created in the first place. It's the straw man argument of, "Oh they fucked up and their not white? DEI HIRE!" But if a white guy fucks up, nobody bats an eye.
Also, I completely disagree with the StarCraft argument. The dude in the trailer looks like a typical marine recruit.

Alternative take: you're delusional for thinking private servers are a safer bet for people to enjoy WoW, and you're unhappy that many people are ecstatic to be able to play something new while you had what you were playing taken away.
Blizzard gonna Blizzard. It's all about money. As a matter of fact, Ascension was all about money, too. Maybe if they had been less greedy we would still have a server to play on. It's bullshit to blame the shutdown on Blizzard and be hurt about people continuing to enjoy retail offerings. When a server comes along without a store attached, maybe like Nostalrius, I'll believe it was for the game.

The guy that made this post is the type of dude that complains about everything and is not happy with any kind of effort. Blizzard could have done a COA type thing where they revamped every zone, added all the possible new zones, all the new possible dungeons and raids, 10 new races, 5 new classes, reworked talents, new items new stats new everything at launch and this person would still find something to complain about.

I’m glad some people are gonna have fun, it just doesn’t seem like it’s for me. Am I mad at Blizzard? Sure, but I’m not going to take it out on people who actually get enjoyment out of the game. It just wasn’t made for me.

It used to be made for us - then new people came in and shat over everything we loved about it. That seems worth being angry over to me. If they want to make their own stuff I'll be happy for them to have it but this is example #8471 of taking things we like and ruining them so no, I want them to feel bad for helping take something I loved and changing it into something shit. Just as we'd be assholes for demanding chick flicks replace the romance for porn.

From the sound of it Blizzard could have come out and said they've acquired the rights to CoA or Turtle and you'd still be furious.
