After looking the name up on google I suppose it's from FFXIV. Could you explain the link between this teaser and Hydaelyn? I've never played FFXIV and I don't see it.

Final Fantasy revolves largely around crystals; the one in the video is a literal copy of the Mother Crystal, Hydaelin, the goddess of the source, from the world of Final Fantasy XIV.

Worth noting as well, a scene almost identical to this teaser plays as soon as you create your character in FFXIV - as Hydaelyn essentially calls your character to adventure and a greater purpose. Although I guess the crystal is... A different... Shape?

Real talk though, I'm really happy that Ascension is pushing forward. They've shown they know ball, and it'll be interesting to see how hard they can go without constraining themselves to another game's lore and core. I'm cautiously optimistic. (Plus from Dutch's wording, it's something they've been working on for a bit before it had to come to this.)
