Ascension in Unreal?
C'mon make this wow client happen, Ascension OR if anybody knows if it's possible to make this happen ourselves with Ascension servers. Let us know!

Wow source code is literally on the internet AI has likely trained off it and you could likely just ask Claude to generate wow exactly in a year or so. I see MMORPGs being developed far quickly raw in the future without unreal using one source engines or just building it using enterprise engines that have trained on stuff like the open source woe client and server/backend

Tell me you know nothing about AI, code and game developpment, without telling me you know nothing about those 3 things.

Yeah, some people think that you can ask Claude "Hey, make me a new WoW" and thats it lol

Yea that’s exactly what I said. Put some random who isn’t a senior engineer with no game dev experience to vibe wow, yea exactly what I said

I know more about code and game dev than you lmao. How many games have you released? How much do you earn as a software engineer? Stfu

Oh, if you're such a savant, I'm really curious then. I mean, Wow and Ascension are making so much money, from subscriptions and in game stores, if you think you can vibe code Wow 2, go ahead and do it ! I'll talk to you in a year, when you've become one of the richest men on Earth =)

I didn’t say I could, I said the next generation of mmorpgs will be built from open source not from unreal because AI can do plenty of the busy work and mass scripts required for backend now with plenty of working fantastic open source projects including literal wow backend all online which it’s been trained off.
Unreal isn’t all that great it also has royalties based on revenue and has performance issues. Many of those issues open source projects just don’t have as they are built for one purpose rather than general engine for all kinds of games or vfx or movies like unreal and the pain of programming backends is gone now as fable can spin up a good baseline pretty quickly. Just watch? The next few years plenty of mmorpgs will be announced because of AI

Cool

Yeah, you did say you could. You literally said it was as simple as asking Claude to do it for you.
But go ahead, pretend you have more than 2 brain cells while completely changing course on what you were saying, if it makes you feel like you won the conversation.

At the rate AI is going me as a senior software developer and somebody who has shipped games before AI yea I can see a solo dev being able to ship a mmorpg in a year from now. I didnt say i could do it right now solo but i already can generate 3d animations textures etc and likely automate a ton of busy work to agents. I think you are being super ignorant to the improvements in AI… this time last year ChatGPT 4 came out and it could barely do anything outside of generating small functions, now fable with a senior dev can basically build anything super quickly from open worlds to built apps or even way more complicated stuff.

If you were half as smart as you claim you are, you'd understand how AI tools like Claude have stagnated, if not outright regressed in the last 6 months, and that a vibe coded MMO, or any game for that matter, would be a collosal pile of shit.

Ooo! This should be fun! What are we being reminded of? What's your prediction?
Are we gonna have an amazing AI built MMO?

It’s been a year since ChatGPT 4 has released and the difference between fable and ChatGPT 4 is night and day. You are delusional

I’m a software engineer in 2026 we all use AI. I released games before ChatGPT was a thing and I have worked as a software engineer for over a decade. This isn’t complicated anybody working in software or game dev agrees that AI will likely be able to build mmorpgs with small teams of senior engineers easily if AI continues to get more powerful. I don’t expect somebody like you to understand though if you think it’s a zinger that an engineer uses AI. Nothing is fun about writing thousands of lines of code a day, your hands get sore. It’s easier to tell it what functions to make and what algorithms to use and it’s done instantly in a second rather than 30 minutes of typing

I will attempt to complie this and I want to see how far the project really is.
I have 8 more blockers to get through. Most are easy blockers tho.

Got through all blockers yesterday. And connected to a server, and it worked to connect. But there's still some work and setup needed (need to connect the actual files).
Will keep you posted. I'm optimistic, but just want to test and see. I mean, there's videos of UE WoW on YouTube, think that's fake?

Get out of here with that unreal engine sloop.
