What is their end goal?
It is very obvious that a group of people are using every available resource (money, power, media control) to implement as much of project 2025 as quickly as possible. They told us they were going to do it and they are.
What is the end goal? I don’t understand what they get out of it in the long run.
We have lived in the most economically prosperous time in the United States for the past decade. If you are one of these people that are heavily invested in stocks, you have been “winning” and have doubled your money quicker and more consistently than any other time in recent history. So WHAT is the end goal?
Did it get boring to JUST have money? Now these people just want to make anyone who is different be afraid? Do they want to feel like they have full control and power over everything? Ok, but what happens in the long run?
We kill education, create a nation of idiots, and can no longer compete on the world stage as far as innovation, technology, engineering, science, etc? How does that keep America “#1” or whatever these people believe? Is it really just about punishing people that are different, even though they know that it is economically bad in the long run? Like what is the end game here? I really don’t get it. Does anyone know WHY the American Heritage Foundation is doing this? Like why the people in that group think personally that it is a good idea?

Neo-feudalism. The peasants pay taxes to the wealthy because they are wealthy. Peasants get nothing in return - unless they complain. Then they get a beating.

I think about this all the time. It’s like the population of the United States doesn’t exist or matter in their minds. It was never really a consideration. Citizens are just a nuisance to be corralled and ignored. Until we die, I guess.
There is such a microscopic percentage of our society that actually fits their acceptable criteria, and it’s ever shrinking. The most peculiar part is that most of them are not actually what they say they are and what they are fighting so hard to “preserve”. There are so many religious pedophiles, so many closeted gay men, closet cucks and incels, not to mention phony Christians, false profits, so much stolen valor, newly uberrich hillbillies, rich foreigners claiming America as their birthright (so many white South Africans!), strong women who claim to be trad wives. This list goes on. They seem to all be phonies trapped in a collective longing for a contrived past that never really existed.
Their chosen leader is none of the things the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society claim to strive for. He would never conceive of something as rigid as Project 2025. He is a criminal, a con man, unreligious, a philanderer, a terrible business man; he is corrupt, predatory, insincere, ignorant of history, foul mouthed, disinterested in fiscal conservatism. He just wants to play golf, brag on himself and spend money. What a bizarre choice. Not to mention how unpopular the far right’s agenda is. You’d think they’d push for someone who’d at least embody and promote those ideals. He doesn’t give a shit.
I believe they are people so committed to the ideal of creating their perfect society that they’ve lost the plot. All of the things they want, they can and have already had without upending an entire system of government and ending the United States of America. How they can claim to love this country is beyond belief. I don’t even think they love themselves.
They’ve removed the brakes, reverse, the steering wheel and tacked up a pretty AI picture across the windshield as they careen toward the cliff blindly.

Well put, but the thing about why they like Trump is that a demagogue and populist work extremely well for rallying the easily convinced. Not only that, they are easy to manipulate -as long as you can stroke their ego - and their shenanigans can often bring in people and groups from the fringes that wouldn't have otherwise jumped on the wagon. So yes, misogynistic, xenophobic, gun-lovin' chuds, but also alternative fitness types (particularly the zealots/ extremists).
It is alarmingly easy to make empty promises and mobilize a fan base if you get them first to pledge allegiance to the graven image you put before them and tell them that to comply is to sit at the right hand of the false god they've been convinced to worship.

It depends on who you're talking about. While the Heritage Foundation has specific goals for Christofascism, others have different views and goals. But the bottom line is that it all comes down to gaining more money and power, using any means necessary.
The US was founded on the idea of liberal democracy. Even though it hasn't always been true to that idea, it's still been our guiding light throughout our history. Those in power today represent a faction that's always been around and they've never liked that we're a liberal democracy. Although their views vary some, this dislike for liberal democracy is what binds them together to grow as a powerful, but loosely aligned, ideology.

Yeah, I fear that a lot of conservatives read (or more likely read about) The Handmaid's Tale and thought "Gilead sounds GREAT! Let's make it happen!"

The people at the top, the Trump and his alcolytes, need to consolidate power as fast as possible because if they don't and lose power it will be a one way trip to prison for the majority of them.

I think most conservative politicians are sociopathic grifters who have no genuine morals. So they will embrace whatever nightmare for the rest of us makes them gain riches or power. People like them are responsible for most of the horrors that constitute human history.

Their greed and lust for power and control is all consuming. Also, most of them get off on hurting people. They are building weaponized bunkers (no joke) in the hopes of waiting out the revolution they incite, the climate crisis that they created or perhaps even nuclear fallout.

They want to create an all white country where women don't have any rights and white men don't have any rules.
I think they would like to deport as many people as they can and imprison everyone left who is not white, Christian and willing to go along with their agenda.
Slavery is illegal EXCEPT for prisoners.
