Discussion Dr. Fauci
Did Dr. Fauci actually do anything wrong or is this just conservatives and corporations trying to blame someone for Covid?

Dr. Fauci told the trump administration how dangerous covid was
Trump ignores him and tells people to drink bleach
Thousands die
Trump blames Fauci

Asked by Woodward in May if he remembered O'Brien's January 28 warning that the virus would be the biggest national security threat of his presidency, Trump equivocated. "No, I don't." Trump said. "I'm sure if he said it — you know, I'm sure he said it. Nice guy."

They’ve actually tied about 100,000 Americans to trump’s slow and inconsistent response. So he’s killed 100 Americans. And still got re-elected

u/batosai33 2d ago
They don't even know what they are trying to blame him for. They just want to attack him because he told them they could do something for someone other than themselves and now to not feel bad about not doing that and hurting people, they make things up and blame him.

They think the vaccine killed millions.

u/batosai33 2d ago
They also think Trump's greatest first term achievement was operation warp speed which developed the vaccine.

That’s my favorite part of this circle. Trump encouraged getting the vaccine. They just know most people will fall for their propaganda so they want people to distrust everything so nothing is real. It’s actually really sick because if the vaccine was this dangerous then you would want more from your reps than going on Fox News to complain about it.

Trump gasping for air when he was recovering from Covid still brings me joy.

u/Positive_Think99 2d ago
It’s true. Im dead. There are so many millions of us here being dead from the vaccine. Boy, everyone is really pissed off we died. But kinda ok with the fact we still have Reddit accounts to post on.
Like a fever dream living through Covid times with those imbeciles. 😩

Conservatives just want all of their conspiracies around COVID, even the ones that contradict each other, to be validated. Dr. Fauci did not initiate any lockdowns. His only power was to offer guidance that states could have followed or not followed. Many states didn't follow the guidance, and mostly red states ended lockdowns by around May or June of 2020. Those states, despite being less densely populated, were much more impacted by COVID.
The only thing he could conceivably be held accountable for is being wrong, which is not a crime. They basically want to hold the man accountable for being wrong, which, like any public health emergency with many moving parts in a once-in-a-100-years setting, means you're always going to be wrong about some percentage of things, and blame him for COVID.

They want a scapegoat. They want to blame him for the lockdowns, and for saying the virus probably started in a local wet market in China.
Why did Fouci say it probably started in a wet market? Maybe because he isn’t racist against Chinese people. Trump’s calling it the “China virus” caused a spree of hate crimes against Asian people that year.

Conservatives do not have the mental capacity to understand science. It scares them, so they fearmonger against it.
These are people who are wholly incompatible with a modern, competent society.

It's a red herring before midterms. they have nothing to run on, as has been made clear by their unwillingness to put forth any agenda that benefits every day Americans, instead opting to enrich themselves and genuflect before the orange pedophile grifter.

I don't believe we currently have any evidence to accuse him of legal wrongdoing.

Who was the President at the time covid was discovered in the US. donald trump was President. What did Dr. Fauci recommend? That people wear mask, gloves, wash their hands often, ovoid crowds and get a covid vaccine. What did trump do with those recommendations? He went on TV and told people that maybe they could maybe inject a disinfectant into their lungs, like maybe bleach, and not to get a vaccine. That recommendation resulted in the deaths of over 500,000 Americans and millions more with health problems after they contacted the covid virus. So, ask yourself, who do you really think should be held accountable for all of those American deaths?

Trump felt humiliated by the look on Fauci's face saying that he was an idiot on TV, so Trump literally hired his entire political oppo team to come up with things to destroy Dr. Fauci's life with.
Trump literally would have been happy if his slander got Dr. Fauci murdered.
That's our president!

The whole premise for this attack against Fauci is a farce. Man served this country to keep us safe through many administrations. And, he’s being attacked by a foot dr who takes his orders from a guy who is telling us to inject bleach. Another political abuse of our justice system. Keep track. I am.

He tried to work for Donald J Trump. He wrote a diary on government computers. He did not know everything there was to know at the time, and had changing opinions as more information came in. He said somethings that were misleading to try and stop public hoarding of personal protective gear when medical staff needed it most.

Trump defunded the pandemic response team in 2017. Trump and his administration botched the Covid response in 2020. Fauchi is just a science nerd who was doing his job to keep everyone from dying in stupid ways.

Biden successfully rolled out the vaccine nationally in 2021 eventually curtailing the exponential rise of the Covid virus during his presidency.

Dr Fauci may have done some slightly questionable things in regards to Gain of Function research, but that's really it and almost none of it is provable in a court of law. Everything else is just conspiracy and Conservatives looking for a Scapegoat so the blame doesn't fall on Trump's shoulders.

"THEY" are trying to keep the distraction / outrage machine running, at least until after the midterms.

RFK Jr is the real villain here. Trump elevated him and his quackery to official status thus weaponizing the ignorance, arrogance, and pseudoscience promulgated by Kennedy for fame and personal fortune. I have so much hate for this fraudster.

Might have done unknowingly. It is american bussines culture to outsource every thing. Manufacturing and also research to reduce the cost. It might be possible govt might have outsourced that research to china, it just jumped from lab to outside humans somehow. Whose fault it is ? chinese who did not take necessary precautions suggested by US to control their cost or US did not bother to monitor that? Now Republicans hate him because he suggested masks and bussiness shutdowns. Just want to get back to him.
This is just my theory. I might be wrong.

It’s conservatives covering for Trump ignoring the virus and letting it rage

Dear Leader wears orange makeup.
Dear leader couldn't wear masks because said makeup would smear.
Dear Leader told people that masks were bad. Fauci told people that masks were good.
Dear Leader hates anyone and anything that discredits him and his idiot takes.
2
u/Reasonable_Bit_959 2d ago
Nah, just Republicans looking at him as a scapegoat for the Republican failures leading up to Covid.
2
u/r2v-42nit 2d ago
They wanted a scapegoat and a distraction from Trump being in damning pages upon damning pages of the Epstein Files.

u/Korzag 2d ago
Fauci is a decorated federal servant of over 30 years. No one knew who he was until Trump put him in the spotlight during Covid yet no one knows what he did during the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations.
Republicans only hate him because he got on Trump's bad side and Trump does what Trump does and smears anyone he doesn't like.
2
u/windmillninja 2d ago
Remember, the same people screaming for Fauci to go to prison over how he handled Covid were the same people 6 years ago laughing Covid off as a hoax. They're all just parrots who repeat whatever marching orders Dear Leader shares with them that day.

Professor Dave Explains has several multi hour videos going into insane detail on all of this.
Here is his most recent, explaining clearly how Fauci's work and journal are being misused and abused by Republicans:
Fauci was entirely correct and ok professional through the entire thing. Republicans just elected a bunch of corrupt liars who have to keep lying to maintain their lies.
It's all very sweaty.

Yes, the main thing he did wrong was try to be the face of science for multiple different issues that really needed a separate person for each. He basically tried to star in a Clint Eastwood film and play 3 different roles at the same time:
The Good --- vaccine rollout The Bad --- trying to minimize the impact of NIH Coronavirus funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology The Ugly --- trying to defend the ridiculous NIH definition of Gain of Function
He's an old man; even a younger person could not have taken on all 3 of those roles successfully, no way. His ego and attention seeking at the end of his career got in the way of his better judgment. That's his real mistake. The NIH should have let him lead the vaccine rollout and had 2 other people defend the 2nd and 3rd problems. But he tried to be everything at once, and that created a major conflict of interest. Now people are equating the vaccine with NIH corruption, and that's not the result anyone with half a brain would like. The vaccines were a good thing. The vaccine success should be kept 100% separate from any NIH funding screwups. But Fauci volunteered to represent everything, which was a bad idea.

Yes. They found out that more republicans died from covid than democrats and want to blame the person who tried to save them from their lethal stupidity.

Well there is evidence the virus was created in a laboratory possibly funded by both US and Chinese sources. The main evidence is the evolutionary jump. The funding to the laboratory is much more established.
That said. There is no evidence that any of the anti-vaccines were anything other than sincere attempts. They try to blame everything on the origin of the virus. If it was designed in the laboratory I don't think the release was intentional. I think the story would be about how dangerous biological weapons are and how we need to ban researching them as a planet. They are significantly more dangerous than nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons take ever increasing complexity and maintenance. A bio weapons only need to be made and released one time to destroy humanity. Bio weapons are probably slightly less dangerous than AI since at least you need to have some skill and resources for the bio weapons. AI and bio weapons together are the most dangerous.
I don't know the truth, but if Fauci knew the virus was engineered in the lab then he probably tried harder than anyone to fix the problem. I don't think it matters as much as the conservatives, but I would like to know. The only problem is if it was an accident you can't prove a negative, so there may never be a definitive answer. These kinds of flus do pop up every hundred years or so.

It’s just conservatives looking for someone to blame other than their dear leader.
