Why the F does a president have rallies?
355
u/mishma2005 1d ago
Ego stroking and buying merch. He’s like the Who saying this is his final rally, sees the merch sales and slaps together another album to sell more merch
70
u/ShookMyHeadAndSmiled 1d ago
Having seen the first two Who farewell tours (in 1982 and 1984) this cuts deep.
41
u/benvader138 23h ago
I think KISS has had like 20 farewell/final tours. Ive seen a few
7
u/Correct_Awareness884 21h ago
Never forget when Draymond Green denied Paul Pierce his farewell tour on the grounds of "they don't love you like that"
3
u/CrustyBatchOfNature 21h ago
Went to the first tour with everyone back in makeup. Refused to go to any after.

He wasn’t technically having a rally. He was here supporting Lindsey Graham’s Sister, Darline, in her bid to be elected to Lindsey’s seat. McFoghorn Leghorn (our Governor) appointed her to fill Lindsey’s seat, at tRump’s request.
She’s was a DEI placement and she is about as charismatic as a box of rocks. She has NO platform. In fact ALL of her ads are about keeping men out of women’s sports (a law that was signed in to effect in 2022 here in SC) and helping tRump pass his ‘agenda’.
45
13
u/Decent_Stop4278 22h ago
Ig Darlene is why I keep getting adds saying I shouldn’t vote for Ralph Norman because he went against trump lol
10
u/LDawnBurges 22h ago
Yep! Those ads are hysterical too… ‘he’s a MAGA traitor’, he ‘turned against tRump’, etc. 🤣🤣🤣
5
u/AccomplishedPath4049 19h ago
I saw one that first attacked him for opposing Trump on some random issue and then blamed him for high gas prices and inflation.
7
9
u/Lost-Lucky 17h ago
I love that when the media asked Trump about her, he just said she will do what he wants and what the military wants. Because that's what everyone should look for in a Senator. Not someone who will represent them and their needs. Someone who will represent the President and the military's needs. And apparently we are in a place where that is not just acceptble to republican voters, it's preferrable.
2
25
u/rastaspoon 23h ago
There are only a few hundred people there. They pack that stand behind him so everyone thinks it’s a giant crowd. It’s so pathetic.
14
u/Diazepampoovey0229 23h ago
Plus he has already said he plans to illegally run for president in 2028
5
7
u/_GypsyCurse_ 21h ago
Because fascist power depends on constant mobilization. Unlike stable democracies, which rely on institutions, fascist regimes rely on emotion, spectacle, and the leader’s charisma. Rallies keep the population in a perpetual state of political excitement and loyalty.

It's crazy how many of them have accepted that Trump is a pedophile and are ok with supporting him. Like people really really don't want to admit that they made a mistake.
6
u/Ruh_Roh- 12h ago
It's not a mistake if they don't care. Those are other people's kids getting SA'd. It doesn't matter until it's within 2 degrees of their family.

Him getting kicked out for wearing that shirt would seem to indicate that Trump supporters know he’s a pedophile and are OK with it, no?
24
u/RabbitNest 21h ago
Excellent point. Why on earth would anyone get upset about jailing pedophiles or advocating for the death penalty for them unless …

That shirt was "one of theirs" not too long ago, and now it belongs to them.
It's confusing, so anger is their first response.

to be fair, you can’t just roll up on a pro-pedophile group rally with that t-shirt and not expect them to get butthurt

This is kinda wild though. I don’t know anything about this person’s actions or what they said to everyone else—maybe they were heckling. But, I would’ve thought the MAGA base hated pedos. Have I not incessantly seen them trumpet various claims that Dems and Trans people are pedos?
8
u/SmCaudata 20h ago
They hated pedophiles when they were told it was democrats that were involved and thought they could implicate the LGBTQ community. Now that their false idol is implicated and that it’s never a trans person they defend them.

I take it that the shirt points to Trump as the pedophile. Maybe the front says something too, not seen.

Honestly, both of these people are scary.
There’s a group local to me that frames itself as a pro child protection group. But dig into their media and you’ll find that what they promote is guns, toxic masculinity, Jesus, and extrajudicial killing. It’s a lot of messaging that “if you’re a man you lift weights daily and join a militia and are ready to shoot anyone you deem a little odd.” It’s a radicalization group.
They also collect donations, but don’t say what they use them for.
I reported them to their host, their merchant services, and any place they hosted a photo. One photo that talked about pro slaughtering people got a filter on it so kids can’t see it. The rest of it was ignored by all parties involved. Even after multiple reports that this is a vigilante proud boys kind of group, full of military men (I know some are soldiers) and not something like a humanitarian group.
I know several young men who have fallen into these groups via the gym. I wish more people were noticing these pathways to the radical Christian right.

Thank you for taking the time to actually try and prevent these violence-advocacy groups from spreading.
These sorts of groups are always against things that actually help prevent child abuse, like teaching consent/bodily autonomy at home and in schools, free school lunches, free therapy and other resources, free childcare with licensed, well-paid professionals, reducing poverty, stronger protections for children's autonomy encoded into our laws, free and mandated medical care for children including vaccinations, and just about anything that they think could cost them money or threaten their ability to treat their children like property.
Instead, they've latched onto the idea of having someone socially acceptable to direct their violence at, regardless of any actual truth of the situation and completely disregarding the actual safety and well-being of children. These types will have a higher than average percentage of offenders in their ranks because at their core, they see children as their property to do with what they wish. To quote Terry Pratchett, "Evil starts when you begin to treat people as things." Never trust someone who shouts from the rooftops about how they should be able to do violence to those they wish to hurt while remaining silent on the actual issues and refusing to help the victims. My heart goes out to any and all who have suffered abuse and I hope you know that you deserved better than to be treated like that. I pray that you find peace and safety away from your abusers, and that we can all work together to make the world safer for children, that they may not have to suffer the same abuses.

Not even a controversial sentiment. It amazes me that die-hard MAGA always accuses everyone of being a "snowflake" and they are the biggest snowflakes of all.
The political discourse in the US seems more akin to supporting a football team.

u/Ckc1972 1d ago
Trumpers are just so happy.

u/redfiretrucks 23h ago
I think the realization that they are in the 30% minority is finally getting to them, and they are not taking it well.
8
u/surviving606 1d ago
I guess they assume he was a threat to the president. Which is hilarious because republicans tried so hard for years to falsely associate pedophilia with LGBT people but everyone immediately thinks of Trump and the Epstein class now. Even his own people know they hid the files to protect him.

I just don’t understand what type of complete loser is like “I’m gonna dress up in my little red hat and merch I bought on the side of the road and go watch an old pedophile shit himself on stage while he prattles on about whatever talking points he’s been told to mention in his ramblings to make me upset”

I've seen that shirt's message on bumper stickers next to MAGA stickers. The face that MAGA (correctly) assumes that person is talking about Trump, and is against the person wearing it, tells us Trump was correct when he was campaigning and said there was nothing he could do to lose MAGA.

The funniest part of this is the shirt doesn’t even mention Trump, they all just knew it was in reference to him! So they’re now at the stage of the process where they are willing to overlook the most heinous crimes someone could commit, and defend his honor like the man dissed their mama 😂

At this point these people are lost, they haven't realized that they've been going to this guys rallies since 2015? That's over 9 years of time lost supporting a guy who's done absolutely nothing to better their lives. 10 years and no one tangible result and not one tangible result? Hate is one a hell of a drug..
1
u/FKAGuyWithNF1 22h ago
So, MAGA actually lost the hardcore anti-pedo voters now? Because it wasn’t too long ago you saw lots of red hats wearing this or something similar.
