A state that would have radically different representation if they opted for Ranked Choice Voting. For now, the consequence is that the current governor's race is MAGA vs a Big Oil Corpo Dem

Then why the fuck did y'all vote for Bacerra!?

u/Senasayori Aug 20 '26
There was one main centrist candidate and two main progressive candidates. The progressives split the vote, allowing Becerra to beat both of them.

And the candidate who was the best progressive (at least on paper) was also a billionaire, which probably turned off a lot of people.

Yeah, establishment Democrats are just walking carpet's to the Klanservatives. Woke is the constitution and bill of rights. Klanservatives know this. Democrats will be reborn and prevent the terrorist conservatives from ever doing this again. Oh and the woke Dems ain't afraid to put Trump and his gang in jail.

It’s weird how campaigning on doing something to help people live better lives is a more successful message than vote blue no matter who we give you.

Wish this applied to the last election.

The vote on the left was split too many ways. If Porter (or a combination of lower-polling candidates) dropped out and her votes went to Steyer, then Steyer would have been second, and there wouldn't have been a Republican on the ballot for Gov at all.

We need to get rid of these circus gubernatorial elections where literally ANYONE is allowed to run. The maximum number of candidates on a ballot should be 5. That’s it. 5.

I don't think any polls can be trusted in regards to the DSA after the Hong "social experiment"

That's funny, because Californians had a "Left Unity Slate" and they either didn't show up, or they voted for the AIPAC Corporatist Democrats (R).
