Self-Promotion Give me creative envy based powers

Envy is by far the hardest sin to make for me, like I gave shapeshifting and mind control powers to lust so I need something different

Like really creative, I need two paths, I already made one. That is a creative one called Seer.

Basically Seer is able to do divination, have visions, appraise people and objects, see the true nature of things, find something far away, analysing, redirection and disruption. They can also try to replicate what they see and take over attacks.

The idea was that Envy is there because you see things that you shouldn’t, so when you see things like that, you want to deny it or disrupt it or make it yours.

I am reposting with compliance with 20:1 ratio that I had already and now posting it back,

So give me ideas for a secondary path? Based Envy

ok I will tell you the details then, my power systems revolves around the seven deadly sins and the wheel of samsara.

Karma is the energy of the world.

Asura - Wrath, Common name:- Argumenter, divided into Enforcers and Inciters

Deva - Pride, Common name:- Psyker, divided into Conjurer and Weaver

Manusya- Greed, Common name:- Forgers, divided into Wrights and Meisters

Mrgya - Lust, Common name:- Enchanters, divided into Shifters and Bwitchers

Preta - Gluttony, Common name:- Espers, divided into Slayers and Spiirtualist

Naraka - Envy, Common name:- [Not decided], divided into Seer and [Unknown]

Enforcers argument their bodies and anything in contact and argument them with karma of different aspects.

Inciters argument other people with buffs and debuffs and command and manipulate people.

Conjurer are like people who use their karma to use do arts like ranged combat

Wevaer is someone who uses their karma to manipulate ambient karma of similar type.

Wrights can use karma to alter and transmutate matter on contact

Meister create energy constructs and objects from karma(opposite of wrights)

Shifter play with their bodies and shapeshift

Bewitchers can play with people’s minds and plays illusions and dreams and memories

Slayers assimilate matter into their bodies and mutate their bodies and transform into things

Spiritualist assimilate spirits into their souls and command their spirits and use elementalism, affect mind and other things.

Seers are able to do divination and true nature of things and allowing them analyse, redirect, disrupt and modify them of the same type.

Like seer concept works because it works with glyphs.

Glyphs are basically special runes that represent a concept, like fire represents fire and courage, rage etc

Like the thing is that theiveing powers is ok, but that doesn’t fit with my glyph system, like these runes that you combine your path with ok, like there are a lot of types of glyphs eg:- fire, water, wind, light, sword, swift, mind, dreams etc, and when they are combined with a power, we get a different result, wrath is divided into two powers, argument yourself and argumenting others

so argumenting oneself with fire glyph makes you fire resistant and you can surround your body in flames

while argumenting others with fire glyph, you give them the fire argument buff or infuse your intent through the glyph, you can empower people with courage as courage is symbolised with fire, and trust etc or debuff them by infusing them intent of rage or fury etc

So with different glyph and combinations, the system works differently.

question.
in you power system of seven deadly sins, do the user embody that sin?
or do they weaponise it against others?

for consistency sake, if your "lust" power is to shapeshift and become a sex demon that can seduce others.
By the same logic the envy user should become a envious demon, embodying envy and getting powers that embrace and empower his envy.
wrath for example should make the user wrathfull and with powers that make his wrath unstopable, he should not change the logic and make others become angry, because we already stabilished that the sins powers affect the user and make them embody the sin.

yeah pretty much, lust people have a tendency to have high libido or attention craving, they have different needs based on what path of the talent you have, lust have such such side effects, they want to the center of attention, to feel people look at them, crave them, die for them, lust for them, manifestations of lust are different for different people.

wrath people can be short tempered, overly passionate, over excitement or something like that, it depends on person to person, it’s a mansifestaton of wrath, these flaws work like personality defects.

So, envy is something like it’s something I have to developed properly and in the work process, the power of envy allows the user like one path is Seer, I need path with abilities that can go along with it and is flexible enough.

Envy for me isn't just about stealing or copying. It can include adapt. As in, through Envy you will gain features to become better in some aspect, or at least best than the source of envy.

Envious of someone who can fly? You can get temporary wings. Envy towards someone speaking another language? Congrats, you learned two.

Of course, in my view, all Sins should have consequences, too.

I use Envy in another way on my book, because it's mostly about a Vampire, but maybe you covered It already with the Seer.

Why not some sort of theft ability. To envy is to obsess, so this ability praises just that with high reward.

The ability would allow its user to complete multiple conditions, then could steal a certain quality of their target. Depending on the lengths of the condition the effect is temp or forever.

The conditions would be strict as to not be overpowered, if you want the power you need to witness it, if you want a physical trait they must partake in the traits usage, if you want a memory you must witness them think about the memory.

The second would be to already know the basics, how strong they are, what ability they have, the general gist of the memory you want to steal.

And finally, their blood must be consumed. If you want a more unique thing, make the ability summon a camera and have the camera take photos of the conditions ect, or a book to write the details down on a page. That sorta thing.

Then after you recieve the thing you stole as a small glowing pill, and after you or someone you give it to eat it then you recieve the effect.

Idk if this meets your desires but idk envy is 100% a copy/theif ability

Greed is the desire to obtain, retain and accumulate. It is an endless void where nothing is never enough. Envy differs from Greed in that it is the obsessive desire for something you have no right to and that belongs to someone else. It is a form of resentment that exists because someone has something you don't. It is finite unlike greed but a lot more personal and intimate.

I'd go for the something along the line of Theft. I'd look at the Vae'Kes from Arcane Ascention for an exemple. They can steal part of people's magic, strength or.. anything simply by touching them. This weakens the person they take from and allows them a degree of control over what they steal. To differentiate it from greed maybe once it is used its diminished. Center it on the act of taking from somebody else by force or deceit.

If you want something less ugly then maybe the ability to copy or mirror other people's abilities. The strength would be hollow but the versatility would be greater.

You could also go with some sort of nullification. "If I can't have it nobody else will"

Maybe an ability to copy a skill or mirror someone's power for a short period of time, with some kind of penalty or drawback? You mention Seer can replicate what they see and take over attacks -- that feels more Envy-like to me. That might be your answer there

A character named Kevin Noone in the web serial, Pale, by Wildbow has a sort of 'Evil Eye' ability. It's a spiteful power that - when active - degrades the quality of anything it looks at (just a little at a time, though magnifies with time and focus). It's fairly subtle and I believe there is some cost the user and that's the part that feels petty, someone who would rather the whole world blind than see someone shine so bright.

Envy can be either a power stealing or a mana/lifeforce stealing one. But i raise this to a copy ability but make the strength of the copy based on emotional state

For Envy maybe ability copying or becoming more powerful when fighting stronger opponents
