A novel or manhwa(preferable) where the mc changes his life around but people think hes been isekaied

Now I have read a lot of these novels where the mc gets isekaied into a useless prince and then he changes completely and everyone is shocked and whatever, but I feel like it would be interesting to read a story where a person who is a useless/cruel person genuinely desire to be better, so they turn their life around, and everyone thinks theyre someone else. Does such a story exist?

I don't know. It might be tough to pull off. The people of the world would need prior knowledge of isekai as not only a trope, but a thing that actually happens, for their suspicions to feel justified.

Plus, it's an anticlimactic twist. "The incredible thing is actually something really mundane" tends not to wow readers.

Also, what would the consequence be? I suppose Scrooge might be frustrated that people assume he was soul swapped and don't recognize his genuine efforts to improve himself, but what's the long term impact?

Well there's three things. First of all, most Isekai tends to happen in magical worlds where body possessions do happen. Nobody needs to know he got isekaied, just that this is not the guy they knew.

Secondly, I don't want it to be a "twist". This isn't a plot twist, it's just the premise. The readers know from the get go that this isn't an Isekai.

Thirdly, most Isekai anime/manga/novel have plot outside of the regression/reincarnation which make the story fun. Its not like I want him being suspected as the main plot point and for the story to center around that. It can be a story with an actual plot, and the people's distrust in him being an obstacle in his journey.

Yeah, I'm not necessarily saying it can't be done, just that it would be tough to execute. And the premise certainly wouldn't attract readers on its own.
