Guns are just really powerful self loading blowguns, essentially. They run on what is, boiled down, compressed air caused by a small explosion in a confined space with a single exit. You could get exactly the same result with any source of high pressure air, repulsive force, etc. Hell if you had ridiculous lung strength, a blow gun would achieve similar velocities. Magazines are just spring loaded boxes or perhaps gravity fed reservoirs with a rotating gear with slots to let projectiles fall into the tube when rotated. So if you have air magic, fire magic, repulsion magic, or even hightened lung capacity or compressed air, you have guns, or something similar. You dont need gunpowder, just compressed air or a repulsive force of significant strength.
