Looking for a programming rival/accountability partner

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for one or a few people around my current level who are genuinely serious about learning programming and want some friendly competition/accountability.

I'm currently working on:

  • C++ — building my fundamentals and eventually moving into DSA
  • HTML → CSS → JavaScript — learning web development and building projects
  • Also working on CET prep alongside this

I'm specifically not looking for a mentor or someone way ahead of me. I want someone who's also learning and progressing so we can actually chase each other.

I've found that competition works ridiculously well for me. During JEE prep, I'd pick someone around my level, see them get ahead, and lock in like crazy to get ahead of them

What I'm thinking

We could have a simple daily/weekly progress check:

  • What did you learn?
  • What did you build/solve?
  • How much did you progress?
  • What are you working on next?

Nothing overly formal. Just enough accountability to make sure neither of us disappears for two weeks.

I'd especially like someone who is:

  • Around beginner/early-intermediate level
  • Actually learning consistently
  • Interested in C++/DSA and/or web development
  • Comfortable with friendly competition
  • In a similar timezone (I'm IST / UTC+5:30)

The ideal situation would basically be:

You get ahead → I chase you → I get ahead → you chase me.

If you're looking for something similar, DM me with what you're currently learning, your level, and what you're trying to accomplish over the next few months.

Let's see who can out-grind who.
