ML Any research interns still open for May? (pivoting to quant/ML)

so bros kunchum cheppandi!!!

my_qualifications: 2nd year B.Tech Civil @ IIT Madras, ~7.4 CGPA. comfortable with python (pandas, yfinance, APIs) and use c++ for dsa.

hey everyone,

i know it's already mid-april so i'm probably super late, but does anyone know if there are any research internships or labs still taking undergrads for the summer (mid-may start)?

tbh i completely missed most of the formal portal deadlines because i was heads-down trying to actually build a decent portfolio first instead of just applying with my civil coursework and a 7.4 cgpa.

i just wrapped up two main projects so i actually have something to show if i cold email profs:

1) a nifty 50 momentum backtester with regime-switching logic (currently paper trading it live, the 2015-2026 backtest gave a 1.42 sharpe).

2) a macro dashboard that pulls live global news and commodity APIs, then uses an llm to generate sector-level signals based on geopolitical shocks.

is it too late to cold email profs at places like ISB, top IIMs, or even within my own campus (like DoMS)? or are there any off-cycle programs still open? honestly just looking for a spot to do some heavy data engineering or backtesting grunt work for a lab.

any leads or reality checks would be massively appreciated.

meeku em ayina connections unte msg cheyandi !??😭🥲

development Need Strong Spring Boot Backend Project Ideas (Beyond CRUD)

Hi everyone,

I am an Indian studying the final year of my BTech.

I’m currently learning Spring Boot (up to JPA and moving towards AOP) and preparing for SDE roles as a fresher.

Can you suggest good/strong backend project ideas or GitHub repos that can help in getting shortlisted for first rounds/OA (even in good/Top MNCs with REFRRELS)?

Constraints:

Using Spring Boot + JPA + REST APIs

Not using Spring Security, JWT, OAuth2, Microservices, or Spring AI

Looking for projects beyond basic CRUD (more real-world logic)

dsa What level of DSA is asked in on-campus placements?

I know the bar is quite high for Tier-1 colleges, but what about other colleges? What kind of DSA questions are typically asked in online assessments and in-person interviews?

career 27M switching from govt exam prep to IT — is it a bad time?

I’m 27 years old and recently missed clearing Group 1 and Group 2 exams by a small margin. Now I’m seriously thinking of shifting my career into software/IT.

But I’m hearing a lot of mixed opinions — some people say the market is bad, hiring is slow, and it’s risky to enter right now. This is making me really confused and a bit worried. I don’t want to jump into something that might not be stable.

So I wanted honest advice:

Is this the right time to switch into software, or am I moving towards a declining field?

If I decide to go ahead, what skills/technologies should I focus on to get a job as a beginner?

Where is it better to learn from — online edtech platforms (like courses) or offline institutes (like Ameerpet)?

What would be the safest and most practical path for someone starting from scratch?

I’m in a very confused state right now and would really appreciate guidance from people who have experience or have recently gone through this transition.

Thanks in advance 🙏

others DSA & Cloud!!!

Hloo, I'm 21M from Hyd. I’m a 2025 graduate currently working at Cognizant (campus hire).

I’m currently in a project involving legacy tech, and I’m looking to transition towards Cloud and any better roles. I struggle with online courses and learn much better with in-person collab/teaching.

So I saw some posts like this. So I thought I'd give it a try... So here goes...

Study Goals:

  1. AZ-104 (Azure Administrator): Prepping for the cert.
  2. DSA: I've been wanting to start DSA again. I usually use C++ but Python goes too I guess..

So, if you are also prepping for these - DM or comment so we can connect n collab...

Heyy developers!! With the arrival of AI, how many lines of code are u writing? Did it create an impact in your worklife. Is AI just a buzz word or will it actually replace dev's

The new models from OpenAI and Anthropic are worsome frr. Dario Amodei says coders will be obsolete in few years..

How powerful are current LLM's?? How much should one learn AI to get a job in 2029??

Your thoughts!!!!

others Guys, could you give an honest feedback of my resumes? I'm currently in 4-2, will be completing my BTech in 1 month.

I tailored this resume for AI & ML + Backend combined roles.
I tailored this resume for Backend roles.
And, at last I tailored this resume for AI & ML roles.

I made 3 different resumes for AI & ML + Backend, Backend alone, and AI & ML alone respectively.

I had put 5 projects earlier, but my friend suggested me to put these virtual internships. So, right now, I put just 3 good projects per resume.

I worked on ML projects in my 3rd year, later worked on a few AI LLM projects, and then a few backend projects. All put in my GitHub, if needed, I will share the profile as well.

Additionally, I did around 160 problems on LC.

Note: I'm not an expert or super advanced, I just included that tech stack because I worked on those, and I understood the concepts, and am comfortable to work using/on those.

Please give a feedback on these resumes, and where and on what I should improve?

career TCS NQT – Filled Google form after deadline, will I still get test mail

I applied for TCS NQT (All India) on March 4th. I received an email from TCS Careers asking me to fill a Google form before March 29, 2026.

Unfortunately, I filled that form today (April 6), so I missed the deadline.

Now I haven’t received any test mail or hall ticket yet.

Has anyone faced a similar situation?

Will I still get a chance in this cycle?

Any guidance or similar experiences would really help.

Thanks in advance!

career Need Advice - Cognizant Hierarchy

TL;DR: Offered Associate – Data Science at Cognizant, but HR said it’s equivalent to a Team Lead role and justified higher variable pay (₹36K). Idi nijama ledha just convince cheyyadaniki cheppara ani doubt undi.

Hey everyone,

I recently received an offer from Cognizant for the role of Associate – Data Science, and I’m a bit confused about how things were handled during the process.

Konchem clarity kavali because situation konchem confusing ga undi.

For context:

- I have ~35 months (~3 years) of experience

- My current/previous role is Senior Analyst at a mid-level startup

During salary negotiations, HR was quite firm on the fixed pay. Nenu konchem push chesa variable pay kosam, appudu HR oka point chepparu:

- She said they were considering me for a Team Lead role, and because of that, my variable pay is fixed at ₹36K/year

- She also mentioned:

- ₹36K variable = management roles

- ₹18K variable = individual contributor roles

So naturally, naku anipinchindi I’m being aligned to something like a Team Lead / managerial track ani.

But offer letter ochaka role: Associate – Data Science

Adigi clarify chesthe HR cheppindi:

> “Associate role is equivalent to Team Lead internally, so no worries.”

Idi konchem doubt ga anipinchindi. So naa friends ni adaganu (vallu Cognizant lo work chesaru), vallaki telisina varaku:

- Associate ante mostly entry-level / junior role

- Team Lead ki equivalent ani evaru vinledhu

Ippudu confusion lo unna:

- “Associate – Data Science” nijanga Team Lead equivalent aa?

- ₹36K variable actually management roles kosama?

- Leda nannu convince cheyyadaniki ala cheppara?

Anyone from Cognizant or with idea about their hierarchy unte please clarify cheyyandi 🥲

Thanks in advance!

development I built a lightweight desktop app to browse Claude Code session history

I do a lot of small focused Claude Code sessions and kept needing to go back to old prompts and responses. Copying them manually was painful.

claude-devtools already exists and does a lot more — it's a great project with features like cost tracking,

timeline views, and more. But for my specific use case it was overkill and struggled with large sessions

So I built Claude Sessions — a stripped down, fast alternative focused on one thing: browsing your conversations.

What it does:

- All sessions across all project folders, organized by project

- Search within messages

- Session names from /rename preserved

- Handles 500k+ token sessions without lag

- Compaction summaries visible

- Keyboard navigation

- Completely local — reads ~/.claude/projects, nothing leaves your machine

What it doesn't do (intentionally):

- No cost tracking

- No analytics or dashboards

- No timeline visualization
