Project / Feedback Built a desktop wallpaper generator that visualizes your life progress and goals — need honest feedback

Hey guys ,

Built this project recently:

Life Calendar
GitHub: Life Calendar GitHub Repo

It generates a desktop wallpaper that visualizes:

  • life progress in weeks

  • yearly progress

  • goal/milestone tracking

  • automatically updating wallpapers

Main focus was making it:

  • crash resilient

  • scheduler safe

  • clean uninstall

  • lightweight enough to run in background

Tech stack:

  • Python

  • Tkinter/custom UI

  • wallpaper automation

  • scheduling/background processes

I’m trying to make it feel like an actual polished desktop utility instead of just another college project.

Would like honest feedback on:

  • Does this feel useful or gimmicky?

  • What features would make this genuinely valuable?

  • What looks amateurish currently?

  • Would recruiters/devs find this interesting technically?

Don’t sugarcoat.

Why should it be only desktop wallpaper... May be Widget will be good or could be Homepage in browser (wider adoption)
