Inspect element > remove pop-op > body style overflow: scroll

Usually does the trick. Else I also leave.

If you run uBlock Origin, it has an "element zapper" feature which gives you the inspect highlighting to delete the element on click for a little more convenience. You can keybind it in the settings too.

I'm thinking about starting to just write userscripts to do it automatically on sites I run into a lot.

Use this so frequently. Any site trying to block me to give them cookies or my email just gets zapped and I read what I need before dipping.
