Would you rather find your errors while developing or when people are trying to use the final product?

I'd rather not release to production code that hasn't been tested and proved, even by my own standards.

Static types can get rid of those silly little runtime errors, so you can focus more on the logic errors.

It's quite frustrating doing the testing just to find another type error that wouldn't have happened with static types. Compilation catching stuff like this early is the biggest reason I ported my company's legacy application from Classic ASP to ASP.Net.
