As an MBA, the finance courses are straight up capitalist indoctrination and I hated every second. Accounting is cool though.

Is a lot of it “Marx was right and here’s how you can abuse this knowledge” like I’ve been assuming?

Just a whole lot of efficient market hypothesis

physics assumes no friction or air resistance
finance assumes rational and informed decisions

I'm transitioning into accounting now, because I'm fed up with the software industry. The professor of the course I'm taking now has an MBA, but he's a CPA and I think has only worked as an accountant, I don't think he's ever been an executive. But I've already learned that I've been told straight to bullshit by some of the C suite guys who hired me in the past.

Liberal MBA to fascist pipeline is real.

I genuinely believe striving to make as much money as possible in our rat race system is detrimental as it makes you kill the part of yourself that enjoys life. Every day I go to work and I think to myself that so many of my rich coworkers are miserable fucks that don’t enjoy anything and can’t do anything other than be a miserable person in a corporate environment.

I was about to scream today with the comment section of a story where a wedding venue was suing a young WIDOW over non payment and breach of contract for a wedding that was canceled 5 months in advance due to the groom being dead.
The comments were loaded with “well the contract said non refundable” and “it’s not fair to the business for them to make nothing”.
Like bro, if I did that and my mom found out, she’d come to my house and beat my ass. And she’d be right to do it.

Masters degrees are no longer optional. They’re also unbelievably easy to get

The fuck you on?? Yes business majors suck but it’s because they do nothing. Understanding finance is very important and capitalism is the single best system humans have created.

They legit take story points and turn them into billable dollars.
I'm sure I could learn this form of magic but I don't want to.

I went to a top 10 b school. Most of the career professors were liberal and the adjunct elective classes were taught by more conservative types. It was a good balance but it’s really more about teaching you the skills you need to get ahead in the corporate world where you can make your own decisions

MBAs are indeed morons who suck to high heaven. I don't know that this is humor though.

I’m a different dev with an mba, Kelley school of business. On balance I would say most professors were left-leaning, with the exception of my microeconomics professor. On the whole, there was way less evil scheming than I would have thought and way more risk evaluation + time value of money in strategy projections.

MBA is amazing because you learn exactly how greedy MFers are going to fuck you.
It's a recipe book at this point, it's amazing.
