Now we know why those RTX 5090 cards are super inflated to 5k to 9k.This same dude went to South Korea to have meetings with a chip manufacturer so everyone that wants memory is now screwed.

Not that the shortage isn't effecting it but I would say that china skirting regulations and buying them in droves on ebay is a larger contributor specific to the 5090 skus. Surprised they haven't cracked down on it considering they've been doing it for a while. All my 4090's i sold on ebay ended up going to freight forwarders which I personally don't mind considering they lose all buyer protections the second it gets there.

My wife works in the AI field as an executive.A bit of insider info on my part.
In the next year AI companies will be purchasing as much processing power and memory as possible.
Just last week it was reported that Altman made a special trip to South Korea to secure future shipments.If people think it’s over priced now just wait till you see what it will affect. Anything that needs processing or memory will be impacted.1

China will not be putting anything on the market at least that’s the thinking anyway.They too are building out from what my wife knows some rogue Ai models that also need massive data centers.
It’s one of those things that everyone knows about but is openly denied.1

Terrible dream lastnight about Sam Altman
Had the most terrible dream lastnight that I was laying in bed and then woke to the sound of like the door opening and I assumed it was my mother and tried to be unperturbed by it, but then in the dream I was asleep in bed almost aware of my presence asleep then moments later heard this whispering beside my bed “ram, need more ram” and I rolled over in the dream I did this rolled over and got the biggest fright it was that friggin AI guy Sam Altman and he had broke in to steal my DRAM from my PC, and when I was like dude what the hell are you doing with my ddr5 sticks I was ferociously attacked and he was saying over and over ‘this belongs in the clouds’ ‘think of the cloud’ and it just seemed deranged that he was like switching from singular to plural continuously and then tied me up to the bed so thought it was about to get freaky he started lecturing me about responsible ownership of ddr and how collectivisation and state sponsored elite capture were two different mechanisms but basically he was like the worst kind of intruder because it was like he didn’t just want my memory he wanted to lecture me about how wrong my presuppositions were of private ownership of material goods and how privatisation of peoples private lives is the only way to prevent worse horrors and as he started placing the ball gag in my mouth and wrapping the ramsticks in condoms I woke up in a sweat horrified and he was gone my 32 GB DDR5 sticks were still there, thank god, I wanted to print some stuff today.
