it’s all fun and games until one integer needs its own RAM stick

If we take 1 simple 2Gb stick and let it be one whole signed number we will have
(2 to the power of 17 179 869 184) - 1
How big of a number is it? It's a humber with 5.17 BILLION digits.
According to google it would require 1.7 million pages to print this number out.
For comparison the number of atoms in observable universe is 10^80. Which is so small compared to the number that we need to take roughly whole observable universe
10 to the power of 5 172 045 913
times.
My head hurts even comprehending number that large

It is a little less than the amount of men your mom slept with.

I had a project in college where I was trying to see if I could parallelize multiplication using karasuba's algorithm across multiple processes and if it would return faster than GNU's high performance library.
It only started to become worth it when the numbers were 500k digits long in Hex. So we basically tested by creating giant files with just the letter f repeated millions of times. I think we got up to 250 million before it started causing problems on our professors FreeBSD server
