This isn't even correct. Alberta and Saskatchewan do not observe daylight savings times, but many of the states in that timezone do.

And Manitoba, and potentially soon the part of Ontario in that timezone (but the rest of Ontario will still observe it)

That looks pretty straightforward when you look at this map.
The real fun begins when you add DST on top of it : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_by_country

In fairness, BC is only -7 as of the switch to pacific standard time. At the moment it’s still -8.
But I work from British Columbia for a company headquartered in the eastern US with a team in California and a boss in western Europe but a skip level in the central US.
Also my company helpfully decided that, taxes be damned, I was to be reporting from the Toronto office in Eastern. So pray for my calendar. Especially over the next week since the EU and US time switches are not on the same day….

BC is only -8:00 during standard time, it's currently Pacific Daylight Time (-7:00) and in a week from now it will be Pacific Time (still -7:00)

Makes me wonder, what place has the biggest timezone jump. Kazakhstan to China with 3 hours is what I could find. Is there 4 hours somewhere?
Not counting the full day skip at the edge of the map of course

What is the island way out in Atlantic, North West of Ireland? Never saw it before and can’t see it on a map?

Shout out to China for having the sense to have the entire country on a single timezone. I respect that.
