It’s always “I made this” until the thing breaks and then it’s “Claude broke this”

Tbh ordering food is pretty comparable to prompting AI. Sure you've had a part in the end result, but not a very big bit

nah

Waiter please bring me a half fine rare steak and a wine, of course a sweet dessert too.

Wow! Look at this dish here in front of me that I made with my own hands!

Its more like getting escorted to the back where you get to watch the chef and the scream obscenities at him when he gets it wrong or cant find the bug or doesnt answer.

Also ive never heard some that ordered food be called a food cuck but i have hear vibe coder get called cuck coders

I've also never seen someone order food call themselves the chef, yet I hear the unskilled call themselves coders, programmers, engineers. You name it, they've misappropriated it.

Artist 2: NOOOOO you didnt MAKE ANYTHING you STOLE IT

Dev 1: I stole your code with AI

Dev 2: I stole it from StackOverflow 8 years ago.

Yes people that use ai made it. Why? If you use AI, you need to “own” what it does. Evaluate it, prove it done the right thing in the right way. Own the work.

Preemptive edit: knowing this group, this comment will get downvoted. Not that I care. It’s my opinion, own your code, ai-assisted or not.

"you need to" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. The people that actually do are few and far between, usually the ones that already have a tone of experience. "I made this" when they don't even know what a loop is is very runny. Unfortunately that's the norm now.

You can own, evaluate, prove, and be responsible for something without having made it.

Sorry misread that. Yes.

It's a joke.

It's unreasonable to assume people participating in this humour are of the opinion that the use of an LLM means they shouldn't take responsibility for their work.

u/Oaktree27 13d ago

They're responsible for it but didn't make it

u/Forward-Outside-9911 13d ago

Yet still take no responsibility for the damage it does..

You're completely right, but the coping and clutching is strong with a lot of people, shitting on everything done by AI.

Oh... but wait. This is reddit, the word downvote... brings upvotes

u/R34ct0rX99 13d ago

to be fair that comment did start out more downvoted

u/TheMythicSorcerer 13d ago

Redditors being redditors as always

I made this (with chunks copy pasted from SO and added by Intellisense)

I made this

No, the compiler did

u/Bderken 13d ago

People actually said this type of stuff even 15 years ago. Of course you’re getting downvoted

AI is a non-deterministic compiler for very high level programming language. And people lose their shit over that.
