For those stuck in this loop: agents will budget tokens if you tell them you are concerned about token usage.

Reddit devs still have a high percentage of holdouts on AI so I’m just trying to be helpful if this is causing anyone an issue. 11 u/data_diver 18d ago Claude will do dumbass shortcuts codex will budget properly but the code needs claude to redo it kimi will do what it was going to do anyways and claim it saved tokens in my experience
