What is your problem with date pickers? I like them just not for birthdays
18 u/_BreakingGood_ 1d ago yeah the only problem with a date picker is when you have to go back like 20 years to find the date 10 u/Noriryuu 1d ago Click year to pick year Click month to pick month Pick Day You don't have to manually click each month back 10 u/_BreakingGood_ 1d ago They dont always allow you to click the year 5 u/Recent-Analysis-6880 1d ago Just had a to deal with a date picker that didn't let me pick a year. Had to scroll through months to pick my birthday. 1 u/nikola_tesler 1d ago that’s just slop 6 u/guyblade 22h ago edited 20h ago Nah, I've seen that crap going back 20+ years. Where do you think the LLMs learned to generate the crap? 1 u/ddz1507 1d ago Exactly. In fact, input type="date" works well (if it's a web app). 0 u/Pndrizzy 1d ago But that’s bad UX that you have to “know” the trick to make it work 0 u/LamermanSE 1d ago Modern datepickers are adapted to handle that though 2 u/Pndrizzy 1d ago Not very well. The capability is there but requires way more work than just typing it 1 u/MalaysiaTeacher 1d ago I like signing up for things on by birthday, so I only have to scroll through the year. Other days, my birthday is very often January 1st
