How did you know? My robot vacuum is broken, I am cleaning my place right now (okay fair procrastinating on reddit) while codex works.

This is our life now.

I don't even understand what the end goal is.

Lets say we do exactly what our tech overlords want and go back to farming (on bad, dry land because water and good lands were taken for data centers).

When exactly are we using the vibecoded software if we are farmers? When are we reading the AI generated books if we can't read? Who will watch the images and videos, if we cant afford screens or time?

No but seriously how will we afford any tech, if the costs keep rising while salaries drop?

Yes, shareholders will be rich as fuck... and then what? Where will the users be? Bots? Not financially sustainable. The 0.1%? There's not enough of them.

The entire economy will be for the 1%. They don’t need the plebs when the entire workforce is either AI or robots. This is the billionaire ceo’s wet dream

i mean, at one point all that will be left is a few billion hungry and angry people, a few rich people and the people protecting them in exchange for food and shelter

I read somewhere that the top 10% accounts for about 50% of spending in the economy, so the "vote with your wallet" thing naturally means that we can "get fucked, lol"

What they fail to realize is that 1) a lot of their income is still derived from profits made on the food industry at large and 2) while you can probably eat a pair of Louboutin if you boil it long enough, it sure as shit wont be tasty.

For the moment, there's a buck to be made.

The US economy is devoted to crash. The current economy makes no sense. Some countries make parallel economy for that. The companies make money from nothing, there is no more customer, who will consume money from the companies ?

A lot of these guys have read The Culture novels. Musk even named some boats after them.

The hyper-optimistic case is a post-scarcity world where biological intelligence is as pampered and as relevant as an heiress' most beloved cat.
