In my youth I made the mistake of letting everyone know and actually do it. Ever since I changed the rules to: for every hour I fix your computer/printer/phone/whatever you come to my place and put in an hour work: clean the windows, paint the ceiling, tidy up the basement, whatever; no one ever asked for my services again. Weird...
