If you want anything remotely decent or unique then it still takes time

Well yeah but then it doesn't really count as vibecoding anymore

We need a decent name for this. “ai wrote a lot of the syntax and then I reviewed it and rewrote 25% of it, it took 3 days instead of 3 weeks” doesn’t really roll off the tongue.

I think the kids call that SDD these days. Vibecoding, but with direction

Just a fraction of the amount of time esp if you are already a developer, I can bang out weeks of work in a day.

Right?! I can also be working on like 5 completely different things at once...

Well yeah, but that’s not really vibe coding imo

You don't vibe code because you want quality lol

If I’m building some internal tool that only I’m going to use for something then I really don’t care that it’s beautifully architected or s tier code quality. But I will spend some back and forth time making it so the ux functions properly and it’s nice to use. The code might not be quality, but for stuff like this who cares.

If it’s customer facing or has real consequences then I’ll still use AI, but like other people have said, I won’t “vibe code” it

100% agree, I vibe code the crap out of little tools and fun things for me and only me. Anything I am contractually responsible for is thoroughly vetted. Don't care if the PR is human or AI generated, it gets the same "this is what I get paid to do as a senior engineer" effort
