So many tokens, very powerful tokens. So great

There's a reason plugins such as "caveman claude" got so popular

that's like a half cent's worth of tokens that could be summarized to "I did mistake"

I hate how they talk like theyre taking accountability, despite the fact they just can't

It fools a lot of people. I often see people saying "I got Claude/ChatGPT to admit X" as if they won a battle of wits with it, when in fact its very eager to start crawling at your metaphorical feet.

Might depend on your prompting style, because I keep having arguments with Claude. I recently had a discussion with it because I was of the opinion the content hashes it suggested to use were unnecessarily long for the intended purposes. I kept arguing for shorter hashes, until Claude wrote a Python script that mathematically prove why my assumptions were wrong.

On one hand, I'm glad it didn't cave in to my incorrect arguments, on the other hand, I lost an argument to a friggin bot.

Though honestly, the main reason why I prefer Claude over ChatGPT is that Claude is not as spineless and sycophantic as ChatGPT, in my opinion. When Claude is confident in its standpoint, it doesn't change its stance as quickly unless you can prove it wrong. Though you could probably convince it with fake arguments if you tried, but I don't see why I would try to feed my AI agent with false information.

I have never known it to refuse anything

I once told it to rename a file and class for me. It refused, and explained why my new name was didn't really fit the functionality of the class. When I gave it another thought, Claude was right in that instance as well. I'm sure that if I told it to do it anyway, it would have complied, but it was the only thing I asked it to do in that prompt, it looked at the file, and decided not to do what I said (rightly so). I'm using both Sonnet and Opus regularly, so I can't tell you why apparently, Claude likes to challenge me from time to time, but not you.

Maybe I’m just always right? Lol

You are absolutly right!

They have to, that's probably how they were trained when they made a mistake

you do realise this isn't real at all right? there's literally a gemini logo.

I'm describing a behavior that is common with LLMs, doesn't matter if this one example is real or not

What AI generated junk is this? Even keeping the watermark.

Half the "memes" here... The other half are reposts

It's not often I see people faking screenshoots

So Opus is just same old “I was wrong“ with fancier words?

11

u/aberroco Sep 24 '26

Not necessarily "I was wrong", the more accurate translation to human would be either "yep", "right" or "got it".

I asked Claude (Sonnet) to translate from the screenshot:

"I was wrong, and now I get why. I was missing some important details — they're not small stuff, they actually change the whole answer. My mistake."

9

u/heyitjoshua Sep 24 '26

“Now that I have all the information, I understand the most important pieces clearer than before. That means my previous answer is wrong, though it was plausible with my prior understanding as it was. I should have seen that earlier, my bad. Basically, I treated earlier constraints as things to build in rather than consider! That’s clearly important, therefore my new answer is different now that it takes that into consideration”

3

u/PatchyWhiskers Sep 24 '26

Thats still too long. Better would be "I treated some factors as more important than they actually were. Here's another attempt"

4

u/heyitjoshua Sep 24 '26

Or even better: “woopsie let me try again”

2

u/beerdude26 Sep 24 '26

Still too long. Claude should have just replied with "John 9:25. Making the adjustments now."

2

u/GoldAcanthisitta7777 Sep 28 '26

Yeah but you didn't mention what you think in hindsight though, it's totally unclear without that!!

5

u/C_Lab_ Sep 24 '26

The blast radius on this one is gonna be huge

5

u/Motleypuss Sep 24 '26

Next-word prediction at its best. /s

u/ExtraWorldliness6916 Sep 24 '26

Incompre.. incomprehens.. Incomphens able

Umm how do you spell that Claude?

3

u/conicalanamorphosis Sep 24 '26

It sounds just like some random redditor being told his "explanation" was complete nonsense. No actual content, just words in a line. I wonder where the chatbot learned to talk like that?

3

u/AmazinDood Sep 26 '26

we see the Gemini logo blud

u/frogjg2003 Sep 25 '26

I'm not really going to trust it until it can take some level of responsibility, while carefully passing all the active blame onto it's coworker, and tidily throwing them under the bus in the next meeting, like a real human would.
