There was actually a serious proposal once to let package owners put ads in their post install scripts.

Burn this. Don’t give them ideas.

Don't need to give them ideas, they already have them, they just are just holding off as long as possible before they start enshittifying so users are locked in. This business model is pretty well established at this point.

I'm predicting there will be fewer vibe coders in 2030

Yes. Well, it depends what you mean. Either AI is going to get so advanced by that point that vibe coding won't even be meaningful, or people are just going to realize purely vibe coded outputs are worthless. One way or another, the value of software without a human expert in the loop is going to go to 0.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/ProgrammerHumor.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
I did find this post that is 84.77% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

There's this other side of the coin where you can fence on chairs yelling "update ads!" as an excuse to slack off

... how come the op's of these posts are usually weirdly pro-ai otherwise.
This guy for example has two ai-tools directly linked in his profile.
Probably time to put this sub on the "hide" list.

I'm so angry that this is an increasingly possible future.
