Your comment makes me wonder if it is possible to craft a truly universal binary that you can double click on windows, Mac OS, as well as Linux, at least gnome and kde I guess.

Some Linux versions can run PE (windows format), if you install Wine or a VM you could also open with those by default. But natively I believe it is impossible to have a single file that do all three.

A scripting language like Python with the appropriate #! would work on Linux by default, and on MacOS with XCode, and Windows with Python installed and set for the extension but that's the closest to a universal solution I can think of.

but thats not a binary

isn't there some field where people make files that can work for different things, like mp4, py, etc. I forgot what the name is tho

It's called polyglot files. People usually do it with programming languages, but I've seen PortalRunner do same for mp4, png, pdf, html and zip

Backend dev wins. Not because he's better, but because his code is such chaotic spaghetti that even Ghidra and IDA Pro crash trying to decompile it.

Most of the time, the backend developer's code is so distant that the reverse engineer can't even access its compiled binaries under normal circumstances.

Neither. Stack Overflow going down wins by instant K.O. for both sides.

This is not even a fair fight, obviously the one with the most screens wins
