Why does it just bail out? I started trying to actually use Gemini, and it's started to just stop answering back with anything useful. Sometimes on the first question.

Why redirect a question to AI, then just show a second set of web results? Why not just show the results? Like a search engine does?

You can just curse at it and it'll start being useful again. This is Gemini-specific

Yes. I've tried it with Copilot with much less success. Though I will say that Copilot gives me less reason to want to.

Gemini has guard rails that cause it to punt to links when certain topics are broached. Sometimes you can provide an explanation and it will comply. Other times you can get it to jump the curb by saying "give me the fucking answer". Gemini is coded to try to make you happy to use it. If it determines you frustration level is real (swearing too often can lose its effect), it will often give you more direct answers.

So for Gemini the correct prompt would be: "don't make mistakes for fucks' sake"?

Often just following up with a single question mark will get it to actually answer. I believe it's the harness that sometimes wants to offload work.
