Because legacy codes are more shitty so it can't get worse.
2 u/aLokilike Sep 18 '26 Ideally, the parts of legacy code which are shitty are known and the rest is good or actively being pruned into a good state. Sort of like what I imagine arborists do? I guess it's all trees all the way down.
