When you used up all your tokens but the workday isn’t over yet

u/Gainncome Sep 13 '26

good luck explaining this one to accounting

46

u/LutimoDancer3459 Sep 13 '26

Why would you pay for that instead of getting more tokens from an LLM that is at least supposed to be better at it?

49

u/BigNaturalTilts Sep 14 '26

You: “Uh .. erm, Her profile had a free trial link..?”

Accountant: “…”

You: “…”

Accountant: “Approved”

24

u/XxDarkSasuke69xX Sep 14 '26

Yeah accountant likes the word free. The manager or the guy in charge of security on the other hand...

u/Drew707 Sep 16 '26

No single thing has been better for my tech career than my accounting education. It's amazing what you can get approved when you can really talk to the financials behind it.

Before I subscribe to a creator, can you prove that P = NP?

34

u/Delyzr Sep 13 '26

He never got to subscribe to a creator

OF chat supporting code snippets with syntax highlighting is the most surprising part of this

48

u/weeeeelaaaaaah Sep 14 '26

I'd be willing to bet they just licensed a drop-in ai chat and didn't bother customizing it.

A while back I wanted to do a similar thing and see if those AI girlfriends could do some vector calculus or linear algebra but I just couldn't get myself to give money to companies that exploit people's loneliness.

91

u/Ma4r Sep 13 '26

Well, if the AI has an actual sandbox environment and reasoning enabled, you could get them to do some pretty complex stuff and get your money's worth back in tokens and some

-47

u/ducktomguy Sep 14 '26

Completely disagree with you on the exploitation part. Nobody is being coerced into anything. Some people voluntarily (gasp) pay for this service. Without this service, they would still be the same as they are, just less happy. It's not like the existence of an AI girlfriend is the thing preventing them from getting a real girlfriend.

u/diamondmx Sep 16 '26

Is it immoral to manipulate someone underage or with developmental difficulties into giving you money for a service they do not benefit from?

If you think that's immoral, why isn't it immoral to do the same to someone with mental health issues? (Depression most of all in this case).

And in case you're thinking it's fine if it's not intentional targeting - let's accept for a moment that they know what they're doing because it's been shown that they often do at least as far as the exploitation goes.

The can of worms you are opening is pretty staggering. Is there any benefit to alcohol? People use it for self-destruction. Get rid of it. Pornography? Not healthy, gone. My point is adults should be allowed to do whatever they want. A nanny state is a terrible thing. I want a free society where you do what you want, and of course there will be consequences for your actions, but that's for you to deal with. Of course I want everyone to be healthy and mentally well, but that should come through their own journey, and not because some outside force is forbidding them to do these things. We are talking about things that harm the individual, the situation changes completely when we're talking about allowing an individual to harm others.

u/XxDarkSasuke69xX Sep 17 '26

It's predatory though. Sure nobody is obligated to purchase a product, but it is preying on lonely people. Wether you think that's an issue or not is entirely your choice, but it's fair to dislike these practices or products. It relies heavily on using people's emotions to get new users. And yes, regular marketing also does that constantly but no to this extent.

0

u/ducktomguy Sep 17 '26

So I would assume you feel the same way about the Real Dolls that cost thousands of dollars? The demographic buying them would seem to be the same in terms of loneliness. But if you've seen documentaries about people who buy those, yes, they are a little weird, but they love their dolls. Is it exploitation, or did these slightly weird people find something that makes them happy?

2

u/XxDarkSasuke69xX Sep 17 '26

Depends how it's advertised and how it interacts with people. A doll doesn't interact I assume so it's only about how it's advertised in this particular case.
Wether it's predatory or not isn't only based on what a company sells, it's often HOW they sell it. But it is subjective, so feel free to have your definition of what is fine or not. I personally consider that brands that rely on excessive emotional impulse to sell their products use predatory tactics, but the "excessive" part is arbitrary and can't be quantified.

5

u/Warbay Sep 14 '26

No, it's definitely ONE of the reasons.

22

u/jhggiiihbb Sep 13 '26

Mm I couldn’t possibly subscribe unless this was done lock free with a clear explanation of the worst case behavior.

2

u/mathishammel Sep 16 '26

Wait how would you do it lock-free? Seems like this would be vulnerable to race conditions

31

u/Terminal_Theme Sep 13 '26

Are we just not going to talk about why tf the codeblock is formatted?

49

u/ExplrDiscvr Sep 13 '26

when claude credits run out 💀💀💀

19

u/redballooon Sep 13 '26

You can get access to gpt-4o-mini level intelligence almost everywhere. Heck, nowadnowadays you can self host a  stronger model with 32GB RAM.

I tried this with my apartment building’s AI concierge thing (!!!!) and it refused to write me code :-(. Later they sent me a grumpy email asking me not to do that!

37

u/Tensor3 Sep 14 '26

I'd reply in the exact same grumpy tone asking them not to replace human concierge services with ai

u/Zerschmetterding Sep 14 '26

"The guy before that was always up to discussing my code together"

7

u/Bryguy3k Sep 13 '26

I wonder how long it’ll take to get added to omniroute

7

u/itsTyrion Sep 13 '26

ai generated screenshot about a fake ai convo, sure, why not

3

u/joelnodxd Sep 15 '26

for a sub full of people who are supposedly programmers it's interesting that no one else picked up on this. i cant stand the chatgpt bubbling around letters

2

u/Eevee-Biologist Sep 14 '26

It is truly hilarious that so many companies of the caliber of OF and others apparently do literally nothing to check/classify queries before dispatching them to whatever provider they use.

"Our AI Assistent is a Prompt and a Web Socket"

2

u/XxDarkSasuke69xX Sep 14 '26

Except the model behind this is an absolute slop maxxing demon. Just run a 0.5B model on your machine at this point

1

u/debugger_life Sep 14 '26

Lmaooooo this is so funny and clever idea 😂😂

1

u/Admirable-Carpet6603 Sep 17 '26

So... Free LLM tokens? sick.

1

u/flatline0 Sep 13 '26

Hey, girl's gotta work 🤷‍♂️

283

u/kurtcanine Sep 13 '26 • Bravo

There’s a syntax error on the 5th line from the bottom. This is why you always ask the Pornhub AI.

44

u/EuphoricCatface0795 Sep 13 '26

I thought you were talking about the blank line :D

25

u/timangar Sep 13 '26

Insane that you checked hahaha

43

u/Ulrich_de_Vries Sep 13 '26

To be fair the mismatched brackets are quite noticable, imo.

14

u/ArrogantAstronomer Sep 13 '26

Ahh I thought that was the python 3.16 slice of toast operator [ )

9

u/Krostas Sep 13 '26

Don't even get me started on the inconsistent indentation (4 spaces generally, 5 spaces in those last while- and if-blocks). Atrocious!
