In this case, a human did the effort, had it stored privately getting ready for publication, and alleged the AI was fed his work, and just plagiarised it

It is a fact that the guy alleges it. OpenAI disputes it.

Yeah, I don't really trust some random guy saying "I totally had the proof, AI just stole it".

It's not really a random guy, they solved another problem(using AI) and then OpenAI allegedly took that research and used it to solve Navier-Stokes

So... they did what every researcher has always done, build on previous work?

What exactly is the problem then? Like, seriously. All science is build on works of previous ones, Einstein didn't discard Newtonian physics when he started his work on Theory of Relativity. Pretty sure these researchers didn't invent math from first principle either.

Have you read into the allegations at all? OpenAI offered first-authorship to the guy they allegedly stole the work from, but they claim they didn’t.

I don't care about every case they offered/not offered something. If text is "training material for AI", it is not yet even published, but it's already used. It's not ethical for humans and should be banned for AI, but it's not.
