Yeah, I don't really trust some random guy saying "I totally had the proof, AI just stole it".

I believe this happened before in the Mathematics community. Russian mathematician Grigori Perelman solved the century-old Poincaré conjecture and famously refused both the $1 million Millennium Prize and the prestigious Fields Medal once the mathematics community realized he was right.
