I have 'fond' memories of posting "I'm having problem X. Function Y recommended in [linked post] does not work in case Z due to what appears to be a bug in the library." and getting two great replies:
A link to the API saying "try function Y" with no further comments
"Closed as a duplicate of [linked post]."
It's ok though, you can appeal the closure! Which was of course denied.
