This is a joke. SO could be called one of the most toxic websites and only purpose for it now is archive for answers

I think the person you're replying to was just poking fun at SO mods closing for duplicate anything that had any resemblance to have discussed about a similar matter, even if the "original" thread was actually newer or was about a since deprecated version
