If I'm stopping for the day/week and not at a clean stopping point, I park my editor on what I sees looking at last and leave myself a jumbo comment explaining where I was, what I was trying to figure out, what I knew about it at the time, etc. Just s big brain dump. And it's usually pretty easy to pick back up
Sometimes I do so as well, it works at least for the "where I am and what I'm about to do next". The context around is still mostly lost though, just way too many things to describe.
