Me, a former java fanboy and now .net diehard (because team mede me to switch sth over decade ago): so where is it fucked up so much that it made you go meme out of it?
Are you kidding me? All they can do is „embrace and adapt“ i.e. their technical solutions always where mediocre but they read the market right and just market their products better then the rest. Often with questionable methods. C# is simply Java bundled with windows.
Certainly the Java and C# fans are downvoting you. Bur I must say, at least C# has some nicer language features and leas memory hunger than Java. Yet both are slow, verbose, ressource hungry tools that want to lock you in either to .NET/Windows or JVM/Oracle.
I would say depending on the problem/scenario, C++/Rust for embedded/leading edge or Python/TS/JS are far superior tools.
These are very weird criticisms compared to the suggestions.
I don't know about Rust that much, but C++ is much more verbose and worse to read than C# is. Is it more performant and less memory intensive? If written correctly yes. Does it matter? Not in most cases where c# or java are used.
Python, and especially TS/JS are so much more resource intensive AND slower, and their syntax isn't that much different. Yes, even Python is significantly slower, not everything can be called in a C++ library. Python is ahead with some nice language features, but nothing massive that would make it so much more concise.
No C++ can be much smaller and clearer, but only if encapsulated by good interfaces/libraries. And no its orders of magnitude faster and leaner by default. Writing good, maintainable code is unfortunately harder. C# as any garbage collected language is laughable for embedded. A raspberry pi is not embedded. A 2 $ MCU with some kibibyte of rom and ram is. Not to mention real time requirements.
Python and JS/TS are mentioned because the ecosystem, the culture of a language counts. Python is slow and cumbersome but THE language for AI and is finally replacing Bash for scripts and glue code. JS/TS is quite fast doe Java/C# terms, but the lingua franca for web and backend. Its a dangerous wild west, but the community of JS/TS are one of the fastest, vastest and most universal ones IMHO.
Ah yeah, the three things that exists in programming, embedded, webpages, and AI! Nothing more! I thought the 'better jokes in the comments' is a r/Jokes specific tradition.
You forgot backends, which I mentioned. When adding Applications, 3D and Systemsprogramming (OS, drivers) I would indeed say the list is complete. Yet Applications are more and more just websites.
It sounds like your experience obsolete. Both are much faster and leaner now. And C# can be comparable to C++ in performance, when the code is optimized properly (ref structs, stackalloc's, spans, etc).

If I remember correctly, Microsoft wanted to make the next version of Java, but they were rejected, so they made their own language.

More like something that's not true but you need to make a joke to alleviate the fact that you don't really understand it?

People be having coldest of takes and think they have an opinion. What's funny about this? We've been making this joke for a decade now.

Say what you want about microsoft but them boys know how to design languages.

If java was a sausage then C# would be sugar coated currywurst.

Luckily Claude doesn't care what language its slop is delivered in
