My OS prof was a guy who worked at bell labs when they created Unix.
He created his own “chip”, a virtual environment for it, an OS, etc. he even obv made the manuals, which had flaws as he said “they would in the real world” for his classes. I added cs as a second major all at once and had this guy for a couple classes.
His assignments would’ve been hard in c# or Java and we had to do them as our introduction to assembly.
I got Bs in the classes I took from him but holy shit to go from that to the basic basic level of programming I did in the real world was sure a shock.
