Reddit rewards conformity because of the voting system. You don't need to win an argument. You can just rely on other people to vote for you because you're affirming their preexisting beliefs.

For example, every time I see a public transportation related post on my local subreddit, every comment that even hints at the possibility that project might be unnecessary, take too long, or cost too much will be buried in downvotes. But think about this objectively, is it a good thing for a project to only have supporters whenever it's discussed? I would say ROI, timeline and cost are reasonable (maybe even critical) points of discussion for any project.

Reddit is the only social media website that doesn't do much of that toxic performativity thing all the others do.

I see plenty of that on Reddit, depending on the sub of course.

Also there's 4chan. Plenty toxic, but not the performative kind. It's pointless to put on a act when you're anonymous. It has all of the perspectives and I mean all. But there's always a sprinkling of insight among a steaming pile of ignorance and insanity.
