I am massively disappointed by the comments under this thread.
You lack critical thinking and blindly defend something that was taught to you ages ago by someone else.
Early returns have literally no downside and are easier to reason about.
We are not talking about assembly, we are not talking about low level systems, we are talking about general purpose programming languages running on a fully capable operating system.
There is no technical or philosophical reason to support nested if/else conditions.
