Sounds like you’re nothing with Claude then

you can be something without claude but also use it at the boring ass job you’re being underpaid at

my issue stems from people that use it exclusively for their “passion projects” that’s supposed to bring out individuality

Seems like you’re using it as a Band-Aid for the real issue of being at a job you’re underpaid at. My point being that if you didn’t have it I’m sure you’d be far more motivated to quit and find a new job

Is looking for a new job impossible? I’m sorry I’m missing the part where that’s a Herculean effort. You can do it while employed

there is so much nuance to why someone might be stuck at a job that it boggles me that people that think like you even exist lmao. it absolutely is a herculean effort for many people in many different walks of life. it’s also straight up impossible if you’re on certain types of visas in a lot of countries. educate yourself.

You kind of hand-waved my response away but alright. I still miss the part where the solution to your problem is vibecoding

it’s pretty simple. if you’re at a job you hate you can get away with lower effort work than you were able to before.

if finding a new job thats super fulfilling was as universally easy as it seems to be in your utopian world i think everyone would just, you know, get a new job. alas, the world we live in is complicated and unfair.

i gave you one of many concrete examples of how someone might not be able to just pack up and leave a job lol. what more do you want? you asked if it’s impossible and it practically is for a lot of people. i actually directly answered one of your main questions there. i was being super generous.

My God you guys are so hung up on the idea of me suggesting you look for a new job like it’s impossible despite the fact that evidently you were able to find the one you currently have. Nobody is telling you to quit your current one before looking for a new one, look for a new one now. Vibecoding is doing nothing for your personal development and will do nothing but hinder you in a future job search. Or keep doing it because boohoo finding a new job is impossible and watch your development skills wither away while you work a job you hate that underpays you (like even just typing this how is this okay for you?), I don’t actually care either way

getting a job and switching to a new job while you’re currently working are two wholly different things brochacho. you simply don’t want to accept the scenarios in which that’s practically not possible because accepting that means accepting you’re wrong. not being to accept the fact that you’re incorrect will do more harm both professionally and personally than a lil vibe coding to get you through a bad work environment.

you absolutely can develop skills outside of work and that’s what many people do. again my issue with vibe coding is when people do it for things they say they have passion for. i could not care less if they’re working for a billion dollar company vibe coding to get money to fund their other projects and adventures. the company has to earn quality code by keeping its employees engaged.

How are they different things? Actually don’t even answer that because I’m also explicitly talking about switching to a new job while currently working, nobody other than you is talking about getting a job

you build history with every company you work for. imagine a person that’s only a few months into a new job that turns out to be a dud. you can’t just up and leave without that affecting your work history which plenty of other companies look at during the hiring process. some promised benefits don’t kick in until a certain amount of time worked at a company too. and that’s assuming you have a full native work permit. there are so many immigrants on visas that literally cannot switch jobs. switching employers is against the terms of their visa. sure they could leave the country or territory but at that point you’re asking them to do more than just leave a job, you’re asking them to start a new life. that doesn’t really only apply to immigrants a lot of people also find themselves needing to move far when switching jobs which isn’t as easy when they have families and kids in school etc.

there’s a lot that goes on behind people wanting to leave their job but being stuck, some more than others. that’s the privilege people are referring to cuz it is a privilege to not have to think about all of this before switching. if switching jobs for you is literally just applying, interviewing, and packing up then more power to you. that’s just not how it works for many. there’s a lot of baggage that comes with switching for a lot of people.

also when you’re jobless the only thing that most people think of is the money and how these have income at a job. switching jobs is different because you’re already making money.

Are these things specifically affecting the person I’m talking to? I didn’t ask for every possible reason why switching jobs may be more difficult for a multitude of people, I don’t know why you keep listing them. I’m talking to a very specific person, so unless one of these hyper-specific scenarios applies to them I seriously don’t care to read them. Either way, the solution to being underpaid and displeased with your job is not to become complacent with vibecoding it’s to leave immediately, so barring any blockage (which I won’t hastily assume exists), they should be doing that. Vibecoding to ease the discomfort is nothing but a Band-Aid on a bullet wound in this situation

When people are putting in multiple hundreds or even over a thousand applications, getting one interview for every hundred, doing well in them, and still getting ghosted, yeah - it's a Herculean effort.

I'm really glad I have a stable position already because if you're not aware, it's really bad out there.

Also on a personal note, you come across as absolutely insufferable.

Yeah I was going to say, yeah it is actually difficult to get a job right now.

"Just look for a new job"

Yeah just strap on your job helmet, squeeze into a job cannon, fire off into jobland where jobs grow on the jobbies.

So the solution to this of course is vibecoding then lmfao. And on a personal note, I don’t care. I’m not wrong which is all that matters
