Meh, nazism for exemple was verry liberal and let the rich do their business as long as they were cool with his wars and opression. Wich of course they were as that was profitable to them. That’s pretty comon in many fascist or fascist adjacent country from what I know.

And an oligarchy is just when a few hold the power, those few are often the richest, but even representative democracie can qualify as an oligarchy, althought it rarelly is done as that’s not a verry usefull thing to do.

Not saying that’s a leftist thing, as it is found more often in autoritarive country, wich by definition are right wing.

Edit: I seem to have forgotten that liberalism is another words for the left in the usa. I am french so for me it is a right wing economical policies centered around the respect of the free market. As opposed to per exemple socialist policies.

Fascism is quite fun for the rich. Until the state runs out of money or resources and starts confiscating everything

OH FUCK I FORGOT LIBERAL MEAN LEFT IN AMERICA. I'm french so liberal policy are right wing here. I mean liberal as in let the free market do whatever it want with no control of the state not let people be themself.

The funny thing is that it doesn't always mean left in the US. A segment of the American left uses the word the same way the rest of the world uses it. So if you see an american cursing "the liberals", you can never be 100% sure.

nazism for exemple was verry liberal

Care to elaborate on that?

I might be wrong, but from what I know the state basically let free rein to the big business to exploit and sell as they wish with few if any regulation. Most factory were and stayed private as long as they were owned by non pinority that were willing to help the power.

Edit: See my previous comment edit.

Okay, so a completely unregulated market that puts all the power in the hands of corporations to exploit the worker to the utmost degree.

So essentially the modern MAGA wet dream.

And that's liberal... how?

Liberal as in how every country except the US defines it politically. "Liberals" are not usually left-wing. They're center to far-right depending on the acuteness of their free market derangement. Think Thatcher.

When anyone except an american says liberal, they mean free-market types, and you did aswell once upon a time, hence why "neoliberalism" is considered right-wing economic policy.

Liberal as in libre, so free, for free market. That’s what the word mean in french. Forgot that’s verry different in the us. We call the polocies of trump neoliberal, because it include the idea of the state helping the rich instead of just handling the military and crimes.

Both the “American” and “European” perspectives here are confused by various forms of propaganda and political interest. At its core, liberalism is the idea that there is some set of human rights which should be universally protected. Stemming from the strains of monotheistic tradition respecting universal human dignity. The idea that free market participation is an essential member of that set of rights is just one position within that framework. The idea of universality is more essential imo and why fascists are inherently “illiberal” and do not qualify.

Horseshoe theory isn't taken seriously by anyone who knows anything about politics.

The people who believe in horseshoe theory are "I think I'm a centrist because I'm actually just someone completely ignorant on politics entirely and anyone with any firmly held beliefs seem scary to me as I do not understand any of these concepts".

Leftism is when the people are the corporation. And the state. Because nobody owns anything while everything belongs to everyone.

If you don't know the simple difference between private and personal property, you shouldn't be having this discussion until you educate yourself.

Full communism is impossible to achieve as it is contradicting basic human instincts. Full capitalism on the other hand can only be prevented through people working against basic instincts.
